I was wondering where do i get these cables for 5.1 surround sound? My dvd has a 5.1 output for front right, front left, surround left, surround right, center, and sub. I have looked all over the internet for these cables, yet i still cant find them. Can anyone help me plz?

Btw. what if my subwoofer out is just a socket? kinda like an audio/video input.. How am i going to put my sub in?

Heh.

Okay, here's how it works. The inputs you're refering to are called direct inputs, and you shouldn't need to use those. On the back of your DVD player there should be either an Optical out or a Coaxial out, or maybe both. Each of these cables carries the signal for all 6 speakers. So, look on the back of the DVD player and reciever for a optical or coaxial and make sure both have it. You'd want to the use the optical over the coaxial, as it's faster, but the coaxial will work too. Then once you find a similar connection on both, look for that kind of cable.

Now, the sub out you're refering to is called an RCA out. A lot of subs use these types of connection, as it is good quality. This type is only used when the sub is self powered, as in the amp is in the sub. Your sub should have that type of connection.

I'm assuming you do have a Dolby Digital Amplifier/Receiver/Processor? Because those outputs are probably all at line level, and will require amplification.
