1.engine swaps, and dont be picky about it, do research and find out what engines work in all cars, would love to swap a supra motor into a AE86. 2. Infinite modding, for the amount of money put into cars they should all have at least 6 to 1400 hp, civics should get 1000hp if someone wants that, i want my supra to have 1200 n beat a gtr or viper. 3. Drfiting and drag tracks, drifting is getting big in gt5, some actual drifting tracks would be cool, a good number of them too, and drag racing would be fun with an actual lighting system an smoke shows day n night a mile and a quater mile.4. Time to up the sound effects, my v8 camaro with racing exhaust sounds like a civic, hhmmmm not good, subarus should sound more like subarus, 700 hp cars should sound loud n mean n like they have 700 or more hp.5. Optional but would be cool, ad motorrcycles to gt5, a kick ass add on, being able to match cars n bikes would make fans love gt5 even more, i know i would, imagine racing around on a hayabusa and a supra pops up to challeng the bike, 800 hp supra vs bike who'd win, if u like my ideas please support it, gt5 is a real driving simulation, all the ideas i said are real so it definently be in gt5, and mote cars, civic coupe n more, thank you :)

I agree with everything you said but being able to tune almost any car to 1400HP (engine swaps).

Please paragraph, it's all a mess...
Also there is a section where you can present your ideas and have them voted on (feedback section).

Yes to all you said :D you just missed one thing and that's a better paint option and manufacturers stickers and decals :D

1. Engine swaps really would be a welcoming addition to the game, giving our cars vastly different power/torque values to better suite the car themselves or the tracks they race on. Not necessarily overall power.

2. Not necessarily the best idea. Power is never everything.

3. Purpose built drag/drift tracks would be a great addition, but we have Route X/custom tracks for that now.

4. Really an addition more then a necessity. I can't say it wouldn't be nice, but I don't see the huge need for it.

5. YES.

Yes I agree but I think it's kinda unrealistic to see a Civic with 1000HP.
Not sayin' it's impossible but in real life it'll be tough job ;)

It would be more feasible if we had drag racing with a real dragstrip though i think 1000hp is still pushing it, at least for FF cars.

I do believe its already been stated why we dont have grag racing in gran turismo though, the difficulty to simulate things breaking which is a huge part of drag racing.

If there's engine swaps its going to be restrictions with that. Some rooms may not want engine swapping allowed. And you won't be able to put a gtr 12 engine with a Volkswagen bus. Be too unrealistic.

How is this one any different from the thread you made the other day?

1 easy way to make GT5 better. Bring back the Game Genie/Game Shark game tweaking gadgets. I miss my hybriding etc. Those were fun days of gaming. I wonder why these types of game tweakers don't exist anymore....

Because it would make cheating online possible and because games wouldn't be compatible anymore.

1. Color Spectrum wheel; eliminates need for paint chips and save programiming space for other content.
2. GT4 style B- spec mode; can race any race in game, aspec or bspec, and for endurance allow you to take selected bspec drivers with you, giving you the options to run whole race aspec or bspec or combine the two.
3. More aspec race restrictions (tire/weight/power) along with more adaptable Ai for more immersive racing offline.
4. Online, offer the present online open lobby option, but also add pre. -regulated online race rooms for online play like gt5 prolouge offered and/or specific racing class lobbies
5. All premium cars with available race modification and a Livery editor to personalize your cars.

All that makes too much sense for PD. How dare you make logical suggestions! Get out! :grumpy:

Mine.

1. Livery editor
2. Leaderboards
3. Better tuning cababilities (engine swaps, more in depth tuning)
4. Get rid of all the cars that are close to being the same (Skylines, Miatas, etc.)
5. Storefront (Something like Forza but with PD's own twist on it)

I still would like the option to choose manufacturer/model specific paint, really like that.

I find the OP's suggestions quite nice, but I don't believe they should all be implemented into a series like GT. GT's biggest selling point is in my opinion their try to keep things close to reality, being able to race production cars as they are purchasable in the real world. I think the performance tuning aspect of GT is overrated way too much. This series should not evolve into something like NFS Underground, although I do believe slight upgrading as implemented in GT should be possible. Here is my opinion on your suggestions:

1.engine swaps...would love a supra motor into a AE86.
Doing something like this in real life would require an entire overhaul of the engine bay. A I6 would never fit into a standard sideways mounted I4 engine bay. Such heavy modifications are not your everyday work. Cars like this are uniques which usually suffer greatly in reliability. A cars original configuration is something a engineer spent lots of time figuring out, I find it disrespectful to not keep the cars essence intact. Race spec engine swaps is something i would love to see on the other hand, as long as the engine belongs to that car model. Engine upgrades 1-3 do correspond to this.

2. Infinite modding, for the amount of money put into cars they should all have at least 6 to 1400 hp, civics should get 1000hp if someone wants that, i want my supra to have 1200 n beat a gtr or viper.
I don't understand this HP mania. I've had the honor to drive a 700HP M3 once real life in controlled conditions. That thing was just dumb to drive. Flooring the accel in that thing made it go anywhere but in a straight line. Input into such machines needs to be very delicate, something that most players on GT can't really do. Realism in handling a 954bhp R35 is not modeled right in GT, I'm more for realism than tamed up HP monsters. In my opinion (<-important word) a bait for the wrong type of audience.

3. Drfiting and drag tracks, drifting is getting big in gt5...
4. Time to up the sound effects, my v8 camaro with racing exhaust sounds like a civic, hhmmmm not good, subarus should sound more like subarus, 700 hp cars should sound loud n mean n like they have 700 or more hp.
I'm all for that! Drag racing is a part of racing culture that should be supported better. I have to admit that I'm no fan myself, but drag belongs into any Racing sim. Something like Motorland from GT4 made an excellent drift track, pity they cut it.
I'd rather not. Just check Youtube for Car v Bike videos and you'll know where this would go. Tourist Trophy 2 on the other hand: Sign me up. Seeing as you want to compare a 800hp supra to a hayabusa (handles like a boat actually) I can kind of see your preferences in racing, but I doubt GT should evolve into something like this.

In my eyes GT should stay the "Club and Series racing" game that it is with more options added to make production cars into race specs (every premium car RM-able). I don't understand the trend that seems popular in buying a car and throwing everything the GT-Tune shop has to offer on it. A lot of the well made balance in GT5 gets lost this way. Many don't realize that racing is not only about HP, and great fun can be found in "tuning prohibited" racing.

Looks like it fits nicely actually 👍

Not to say I dont disagree that things shouldn't be taken to ridiculous level like arcade type games.

• Allow Oil changes via Car Settings.

• Unfilter any asinine words (eg Ssangyong and Monaro aren't swear words).

• Allow Paint change via Settings

• Let us access the PS Store via DLC menu (like C.O.D)

• Allow User Music AND Game Music to be played together.

Amazingly, not one of these ideas has been mentioned before. Perhaps we should send them to PD so they can get started implementing them right awa--- Oh, wait.

This.

Here's one way we can vastly improve GTP. Put a time limit on when new members can post threads. Or make it neccesary for Mods to approve a thread before it goes live. No offense to the OP, but this would spare us the duplicate threads. It never hurts to get acquainted with a site, before posting new threads.

Too right, number of times I've seen a thread created by a new user then another straight after saying or asking for the same thing. Sometimes people don't know how to use the Internet, and it saddens me that this is the case in 2012 where pretty everyone and your gran can use the Internet effectively. I mean I know a friend who's dog is on Facebook.

If a dog can use Facebook to get in touch with his friends then I'm sure real people that use this website can read the stickies properly about posting threads . . . or is that too much to expect.

Everyone is new at some point.

What if they are unfamiliar with forums, perhaps gt planet is their first forum joined?

What us established members can do is guide them rather than hit them up when they make a mistake by starting a thread in the wrong spot or something that has been discussed.

Even I didn't do this kind of stuff when I joined my first forum, and I was 14 at the time.

This guys knows of what he speaks. Along with leaderboards, some kind of ranking system that ranks you in terms of speed and volume of contact while racing and then the ability to filter your open lobbies to include or exclude certain levels of drivers. New drivers, if they choose, should be able to exclude guys that are much faster than them and vice versa.

Dedicated online servers would be a big boost, along with the ability of the system to identify those that are or will lag and keeping them out of the system.

1) No. GT5 is supposed to be a realistic driving simulator. Swapping engines is a Forza thing.

2) No. As some have said, power really isn't everything. This would just attract yobs who can't spell and know bugger all about cars to go online and compare their ridiculous power figures with other people in pathetic little Civics. I fear this would ruin the online experience for people who like GT5 to be a proper simulator.

3) No. Special Stage Route X is perfect for drag racing, and as for drifting, surely it's better to create your own tracks and keep them to drift lobbies only.

4) Sort of yes. Engine sounds have always been dire for many cars in GT5. They need to be made more realistic. V8s need to sound like V8s, V10s need to sound like V10s, V6s need to sound like V6s. Pretty much all cars with a titanium racing exhaust sound bloody terrible.

5) No. No. No, no. No. I can't stress enough just how much I disagree with this. Motorcycles need to be kept to their own games. Gran Turismo is a real DRIVING simulator, not a RIDING simulator. I would say how much I want another Tourist Trophy game, but the PS2 variant wasn't popular enough for PD to put a PS3 TT game into development, so there's clearly not enough of a demand for bikes.

6) That was a bugger to read. Correct spelling and use of capital letters and paragraphs would certainly be appreciated.
