50,000cr fastest car??

50,000cr fastest car??

The GT3 challenge,

You have 50,000cr +/-500cr; with this you must buy and tune a car (without using the trade option with a 2nd memory card!) to complete 4 tasks.

1. 0-400M.
2. 0-1000M.
3. MAX speed.
4. Midfield Raceway, fastest lap.

This is quite a good test as 50grand isn’t that much!
I apologise if this challenge has been done already, but humour me and have a go.

My times: -

1. 0’12.992
2. 0’23.136
3. 299.2 Kmh
4. 1’20.758

I did this with a Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R.
Have fun… ;)

Wow, This sounds interesting. It'll be a few days. It's the weekend and I have to share the PS2 with my kids.
You also managed to pick my favorite testing track.:D

Okay, I got lucky and got to it today. :D
Bought the Camaro Z28 for 22,830. With the remaining 27,170 I pumped it up, I was a little over the limit. (Stage 2 engine mods, clutch and flywheel, sports suspension.)
Total cost of car 51,120:

Now on to the testing.
0-400M: 12.492, 12.442, and 12.434 once I found the launch technique.
0-1000M: 22.059, 22.041
Max spd: 197.9 mph (319.2 km/h)
Midfield, fastest lap: 1:20.501

The Z-28 was difficult to handle at Midfield with the stock tires. It was, however, very quick, and fast, but I had almost 10,000 more to spend on it than you had for the Mustang.

I probably could've gone MUCH faster if it was Buy car and then spend 50,000 on it. THAT definitely would have opened up the field a bit. :D
How about it 50,000 for car + 50,000 for mods

I ran with the Mazda RX-7 RS(j) hoping that the lower weight would help me keep up with the Mustang and Z28.

Mods:
Sport muffler
Stage 1 turbo
Race flywheel
Stage 1 weight reduction
ROM chip

HP: 363

Results?
400m: 12.985
1000m: 23.247
topspd: 179.2 mph (288.31kph)
time: 1'20.445

Looks like I nipped the Mustang in the 400 and race, and came close in the 1000. As for the Z28.... you beat us both. But it looks like I got the edge in the race.. it must be the reduced weight helping with acceleration and turning. There's more to racin than HP which is what I was hoping to see. :D

My wife just ran a Corvette Grand Sport tuned to ~411hp with a weight reduction and race flywheel and got the followin results:
This was an interesting tune situation since the car itself cost 40k... final cost of ~50,800.

400m: 12.705
1000m: 22.659
maxspd: 191.5 mph
time: 1'20.326 (I ran it for her)

The handling on the race felt worse than the RX-7 but the acceleration out of the turns put up the better time.

Interesting that we're all getting in the 1:20s.

:cheeburga (had to use the icon heh heh)

Well it looks like I picked a good car
Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII RS :mitsu:
Mods:Race Muffler, Weight reduction 1, Race Flywheel, Turbo 2, Triple Clutch=50,580
0-400=11.744
0-1000=21.533
Top Speed=277.8km
Lap of Midfield=1.18.568
I lost out big time on Top Speed
c ya

Hudson, Check the Thread I posted, the extra 50, 000 to spend did not make all that much difference. I couldn't break into the 11's in the 0-400M. I guess I should have used the Mitsu with It's short gearing. :D

Ed 😈

Ok ED, you blew away my times, I guess it's time for me to try my hand with one of the less expensive EVO's so I can modify more 😈
Question, How many runs did it take for you to get into the 11's?
OMG that's quick  .(please for the sake of my ego pick a number above 3, even if it ain't true :P )

Ed, that's cold, or so I thought, till I picked up an EVO 7 for my 50,000 for car 50,000 for mods challenge. I first checked the fully modded EVO 7 in my garage before spending the cash on a new one to test with.
My first run was 11:575.
What a wonderful machine!!
Thank you for calling it to my attention.
For all the cars I tested, It was the quickest.
Lost to the RX-7 in the handling dept. but I can live with that. :D
It was also one of the cheapest to build staying w/in the limit. If I had spent the full 100,000 I may have been able to get into the low 11's. 😈
Check the 50,000 for car, 50,000 for mods... thread for the whole story.

Has anyone tried it with a Mustang SVT? It can be bought for around 30,000cr, so you've still got 20,000 to spend on tuning? I haven't tried it, but let me know what sort of times you can get with it if you have.

have a look at post #1

I may give this a try tommorrow.Would it be legal to change gear ratios for each of the tests. This is if I can afford the racing gearbox and a few other mods.

Ok I have my results.I,m pretty happy with my lap time but my 400m&1000m could use some work.

Sports suspension 3,200
Sports muffler 1,600
Racing intercooler 3,000
Semi-racing flywheel 600
