I recently bought a Audi R10 and i am trying to race the Indy 500, but i can't find a real good setup for my car. I always wear tires faster then my opponents. A hard compound last 20 laps at Indy, the AI cars usually make the pit every 40, 45 laps.

If anyone have a good setup for this race let me know!!

Tks

Hi, i've just finished this endurance with Formula Gran Turismo with ReikoNagase's setup
downforce
F 70
R 90
Gear
top speed 242 (400kmh)
LSD
15/45/55
suspension
height
5/5
spring rate 17.4/17.5
dampers E 8/8
dampers C 6/6
roll bars 7/7
camber angle F 2.0 R 1.0
Toe angle F 0.00 R -0.20
Brake balance 4/1

all aid off except stabily on. It is easy with that using racing soft tyres that u'll never consume the only problem is the fuel so i used this strategy: 1 pit stop every 30 laps that consumes about 80-82% of the max fuel capacity so u fill the max fuel and go, don't worry for the time u lose in pit lane coz in 30 laps u can take 3 laps of advantage on the 2nd and late in the race this gap will increase, at 180th laps u will made the last stop and just fill about 60% and this is it. If u don't have the FGT try a Minolta Toyota fully tuned is also very good. PS sry for bad English

Tks, i am gonna try that!!

The only thing you need on Indy is downforce on the front and soft tires. The soft ones last longer than the hard ones. They slide not that much and they allow you to take corners faster.

wow.. soft tires last longer than hard tires? And racing tires work better in the rain than rain tires... this game sure got the tires all screwed up.

I agree if all this is true, i mean wth. How on earth could soft tires last longer than hards? Hards should last maybe 40% or more longer than softs, also based off driving style and track temp, surface, require fewer pit stops. Where softs should be partially fill the tank race hard build a gap, top the tank off on the first pit put hards on a race the distance.

I can attest to that! I used my Toyota Minolta 88 and tried a few "practice" laps with hard tires. Had to pit after about 25 laps. Tried the "soft" tires, was able to get 30 laps, and 1-2 seconds/per lap faster as well. Made a big difference in pit strategy, but as I won by 6 laps maybe not a big deal. Weird, but it worked for me and I got my XJ13:tup:

Tire wear all depends on how your driving. If you try to drive on Hard tires like you do on Softs you wear them out. All the sliding around will chew up the tires like you bottom does wet toilet paper. So if the car is tuned for Soft tires run Soft tires, they will last longer. If your car has been tuned on Hard Tires you can run Soft tires but you might get some Understeer, and the Softs will probably wear more quickly than the Hards like they normally would.

This setup is perfect for Indy 500 B-Spec. Thanks.
