I think it's French, I can check out Pescarolo or something called that to see these two formula-1 cars. They will cost me 4.5 million to get them, but what was strange is I thought "stock" they could be like 1000 horses at least. They are above 500 below 600, and if I really finish this ****** easy tournatment and decide to buy rather than unlock, is it worth it ?? Does it have parts to buy ??

So far I've been dominating utilitzing the B-Spec mode to finish those darn Endurance Events. Need to pit a ********. I unlock some good stuff, I'm using that Toyota Minolta Race Car which is really handy. My friend show me once tho there's some Gran Turismo formula-1 that looks like a real dominator. I think he had to do that damn 24 hours in Nurburgring, my least favorite track, bah, you can disagree all ya want ;]

Also I LOVE Skylines I love the new R35 that's been everywhere in GT5. However, I can see a prototype of it in the Nissan Showroom, in GT4, appears unlockable not buyable. Any idea what race I have to do ?? I'm super bad with Driving Missions..and I can't even get to Extreme Events, I have that big championship to do in Professional and I don't know I don't think my B-Spec driver has the skill to pass and stay ahead, they really **** up a lot..sometimes I could do better on my own but it's just soo many laps and especially knowing when you have the time to pit, those tires just don't last !!

Sorry for the huge post, man I've been browsing around and decided this would be a cool community to share with I've been worshiper of GT since the very original, I wish my GT1 still worked ;[ hahah thanks !!

I'll go one thing at a time...

The Pescarolos aren't F1 cars but LMP prototypes. Their showroom power figures are wrong, the truth is around 800 bhp which can be increased to the thousand bhp range by adding a bigger turbo.

The 24h Nürburgring is a breeze if you use B-Spec, which you've apparently done a lot already.

The GT-R prototype is one of the prize cars of the IA licence. Get all the silver trophies and it's yours, not an impossible task by any means.

That "big championship" is highly likely the GT World Championship. Drive it yourself. One race at a time if it seems too long. And if you know you have to pit anyway, you can as well use softer tyres to make the car faster.

Unfortunatley you have to buy the Pescarolo's, you can't UNLOCK them as they are not prize cars for anything.

If your using the Minolta, this will slaughter Nurb 24hr in B-spec (even if you driver has 0 skill)

You don't have to do the championship in one hit as you can save during the championship. Do a couple of races then save and go back to it the next day.

Welcome to the planet. There is certainly a wealth information here.

Hmmm, I always sucked at GT4 license, I thought I was good just to pass on thru them but I have a lotta Bronze ;[

Dude that's insane I've been so rusty kicking back watching my B-Spec driver pit lol it's gonna be a bitch but ya, there's a lotta tricks to this game, just gotta know you can save while doing tournaments to get back to them whenever you're ready to be patient. You really think I can get a better chance on Really Soft ?? I've been strictly using Super Hard, they are the cheapest, but do last super long like the other AI drivers they set against me they pit like right around when I have to

Hm I wasn't planning on spending the 4.5K, ya I just gotta stay in B-Spec for 24 hours on that damn Nurburgring lolol.

That Minolta has failed on me, or the driver at least, so I try to get him to finish that last tournament in my Professional Events, GT World Tourny was it ?? and when he doesn't stop in time to take a turn correctly and smacks the wall, he just slugs and stays into like 30 mph cruising speed and lets everybody get a big advantage, it sucks

I try to get his skill up, if helpful, tho it's up already by around 800 don't know if it's good or bad, but on 3 "Steady" it's just not enough for Professional he doesn't draft and especially when he does draft he smacks the opponents right in front of him, he won't take them right. Man, what's with this guy ?? l0l he kicks ass in Endurance but damn !! Where's those Extreme Events at ;[

You say the Minolta sucks for the GT World.

Use the Minolta to win the Nurb 24hr and you will receive the Formula 1 car as a prize.
You could then use this to win the GT World.

I am not sure why your B-spec driver stinks. Unfortunately I haven't used B-spec to RACE for approx Two Years. (I only used him to wear out rides).
You do have to tune the Minolta a bit (look around for some settings) for B-spec or yourself to drive it,
otherwise it could be a handfull, or use the Formula 1 car (this also requires some tuning see posts in the 200 point thread for some ideas

Beginner and professional Events

Extreme and Special Conditions

even try one of these with some extra power
stock car thread

I know this sounds sarcastic and stupid, (I don't mean to be) but you do have the Overtake on when using B-spec mode.
I mean the first thing you do when you start your race is to turn the overtake on and leave it on the whole race.
Also if your still having trouble wack a huge turbo on it and oil change, BHP should be over 1100.
Even with tyres that go away and you pit more, you should be able to slaughter in the GT World Champ.

Just follow the Famine method of doing the GTWC.

Get Minolta. Fit R2's. Pit at 1/2 distance. Win by huge margin.

So simple, even monkey's and B-spec's can do it. :D My method's just as simple.

Get Minolta. Fit R2 front/R1 rear. No pits. Win by huge margin.

Famine method ?? hmm describe..no pits ?? Are you serious ?? lol not sure I remember what R2 and R1 are standing for. Super Hard and Hard tires in the back ?? shiiit..

Open Addict, ya man, I have a feeling that Overtake setting is ****ing him up cuz in the straights he just drafts an opponent, even a slow ass one, could be overlapping him already and he'll smack into them very often instead of making the pass. Something's ****ed up with him..I'll unlock that F1 out of Nurburgring, should get started on that now :D

You may have miss-understood with your quoting of mafs.

Famine method of doing the GTWC.
Get Minolta. Fit R2's. Pit at 1/2 distance. Win by huge margin.

or

Mafs method of doing the GTWC.
Get Minolta. Fit R2 front/R1 rear. No pits. Win by huge margin.

either method will definately get the job done.

Ok, so I'm doing something wrong and my Minolta can take on the GTWC. How !? lolol now there's not just the Famine method, there's also the Mafs method. Is that what I mentioned earlier ?? Cuz I've never heard of the Mafs or Famine method ;\

I have to jump in here.

First, everything I am about to say here will make your stay last longer and be more enjoyable.

To help you understand the Famine and Mafs thing.

Famine is one of the moderators on this board. Anytime someone mentions Famine it is most likely referring to him. He only posts in indigo, and is very all-knowing.

Mafs would refer to mafia_boy, the member you have been discussing this with.

Now, the parts that won't seem so friendly:

Before long someone is bound to harass you for trying to B-Spec your way through the game, instead of actually playing it. Like driving in real life getting good at this game requires practice and skill. If you B-Spec everything then where is the fun? Want to B-Spec endurance races, or even switch back and forth between B-Spec and A-Spec? That is fine and understandable, but any other race is a bit silly, and it is why you yourself cannot handle missions and licenses. You haven't actually built your own skill up. You bought the game, you can play how you want, but you will benefit from it more if you actually attempt to do the races yourself.

Now, I want to welcome you to this community, but I will be honest that I am surprised no mods have visited you yet. I suggest a quick read through of our Acceptable Use Policy: https://www.gtplanet.net/aup/

Between your language (if it shows up as ***** the first time you definitely shouldn't use the word - in ANY form) and your abbreviated Internet speak you have broken two rules of the site. Be careful of that or you will have moderators giving you a hard time.

You seem genuinely excited about the GT series and I don't want your stay here to be short lived because you didn't read through the rules when you first signed up.

lolol chill out dude, the moderator got to me already and tells me I'm "understandable", I don't like it either when I have to read typ!ng l!k3 th!s. OK, change of subject

Well..believe it I did get 63% done A-Spec all by myself..just when it comes down to the endurance, I'm horrible at it my patience tends to run out when I draft and draft and I can't seem to get a lead. I'll take curves right and I can't just push out of there like the opponents will, and B-Spec has been twitchy, I don't know, I'll have to grab that F1 for myself and dominate the rest of the game ;]

And I thought that Japan championship was aggravating, I did it over and over again to keep getting the championship money and that bonus 350Z that would roll in like 300,000 bucks. Now I await when my PS2 is cool enough to go 24 hours lol it's easy stuff he'll pit for you and all that it's just the matter of getting it to fast forward every time he finishes a pit ;\

Believe me (Smallhorses and many other members) when I inform you that PS2 overheating is not a problem.
I myself ran the two Sarthe Enduro's one after the other over a 2 week period (approx 330 hours) with out switching off.

Smallhorses on the other hand has had his on for over 520ish hours in one hit.

It is well documented that overheating is not a real issue.
As long as you keep it in a ventilated area and not in a cabinet with no airflow
(and the wife now knows it too :) )

I'm another in the "leave PS2 on everywhere" club, and I've got the good old chunky Series 1. :embarrassed: My PS2 gets a MINIMUM of 70hrs running per GT4 session (around 3 days) that it's turned on, day or night, hot or cold. My best was just off 3 weeks (around 430hrs!! ) when I just refused to finish the 9hr Enduro due to being tired, so I pulled the controller out....left it on, and didn't touch it for weeks!! :P

Even right now, I'm being lazy so it's in standby mode (couldn't even be screwed flicking the switch this morning on the back!!) and talking to you guys.

Mind you, if I tried the same thing with my FIFA 06 disc, the game will freeze. :odd:

......Even right now, I'm being lazy so it's in standby mode (couldn't even be screwed flicking the switch this morning on the back!!) and talking to you guys......

I use the new slim-line that I got three years ago. Currently I have not switched if off at the wall, for approx 6 months or more. Meaning, mine is always in stand-by mode.

I wonder if this is not good to do :nervous:, But i get frustrated :grumpy: having to update date and time every time it gets powered off.

Jesus, you're a MONSTER !! This is my 4th PS2..a slim line as well, have to say I'm real pleased with it, but I'm definitely keeping care of it. Ya I knew overheating was fine this slim one runs forever just need it ventilated not in a cabinet/drawer exactly what that other dude was saying. It does heat up pretty quick, it's bliss when my hands are cold from the beer or the frosty/slurpie ;]

Even when I blew up my first S1 PS2, I just went and got another pre-owned one w/2yrs warranty just because I HATED the slimline, and I still do. My mates have all had slimline PS2's and mine has lasted longer than any of their's.

GGGGGRRRRRRAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH. Green like the HULK. :sly:

Oh, I'm chill. You'll notice when I am not. I'm just trying to help out.

I have never done any race over four hours in all A-Spec. I have switched out with B-Spec and have even just had him do the whole race, so I understand that. But everything else I did in A-Spec.

B-Spec will be twitchy until you get his scores up in all three categories. We have some threads on how to train it, so look for those and see what you can do to aid him.

As for the hot PS2 thing, I never experienced it and had the system on for over a week. I also run my PS3 almost non-stop.

Yeah. I left it on for a couple of days and had no problem. I've run the same (late S1, silver) console for 5-6 years now, and had no problems (a disc broke, and one other one is dying, but those were PS1 games and well old...). :P

What ?? Damn that slimline stays frying up because it spins discs so friggin fast l0l0l

Finally on topic:

In my opinion, the Minolta is way better than the Formula.
Formula can't get oil changed or upgraded.
The Minolta can be upgraded to 1211 (?) BHP, not comparable to the Formula's 905 BHP.

I've had never problems with my PS2 (the fat, old one ).. but.. about three months ago: I went playing GT4 and after I've chosen a track and a car to run in Arcade-Mode, it just showed the red circle of death :( .. I don't know if the data on the memory card can be used, because I've tried everything, but GT4 (and GT3 :grumpy: ) don't work.. So can anyone tell me if the data on the memory card can be used or was it damaged?

On topic:

Well you're right about the Minolta and the Formula GT, but don't forget the Formula GT only weights 540 kg.. But if I had to choose, I would go with the Minolta, because you can tune it (as you said) and if you have tuned it correctly and changed the settings to your liking, the Minolta would be much faster than the Formula GT.. 👍

Best wishes,

S-Line Audi Fan

P.S.: Please someone answer to my question about the Memory card! Thank you! :)

the red circle of death?, that not with the xbox 360?

The red circle of death means the spinning loading logo indicating the disc is being read that is usually white but turns red when things go wrong. I can't see any reason why the data would be damaged but either the PS2 or the disc isn't cutting it any more. If possible, try another GT4 disc. After that, if possible, try another PS2. If it still doesn't work... you're doomed.

Greycap.. :( .. I could cry now.. Thank you for telling me that.. I mean: I'm a GT fanatic (as you've maybe noticed) and I'm thinking every day about if the data is damaged and now I know everything's ok with it :) Thank you very much 👍 I appreciate it and I know how I can do something good to you ;) 💡 .. I think you know what I mean :) ..

And: GT3 worked one hour ago, I wanted to try a race in the professional league and after I've finished the first race of the championship, the game didn't want to go on.. I just had to switch off the PS2..

I will buy another GT4 disk and a new PS2.. And later the next year I'll buy a PS3 so I can play GT5 (no, I don't mean GT:P now.. Well I can buy both then :D) 👍 ..

Best wishes and thank you again Greycap, you can always count on me, just tell me, if there's a need and I'll be there for you :)..

P.S.: Greycap, the game was still loading and I had to switch it off, because of that I thought the data on the memory card was damaged.. I've turned the PS2 of while it showed me the red circle of death.. But, you taught me something else and I can't thank you enough for that, buddy 👍..
