69 Corvette Tuning

Hello everyone, I'm new here but I've been a GT fan since the original. I remember when the best car used to be the FTO, and the Escudo was completely rediculous. Anyway, I have been trying to tune my 69 Stingray to compete in the World Classic Car Series, but I am having serious issues. I came over here and checked out Ducks setup for the car, but it only seemed to make it worse. If I clipped a corner or even gassed it on a corner it was a guaranteed spinout. So in conlclusion, does anybody have a really good tuning setup for this car? Thanks.

I could work on one. I need some guidelines though. What do you want it to do? Oversteer? Understeer? How much power do you want the car to have? Will you allow downforce? Do you want to be able to B-Spec the car as well as A-Spec it? Etc.

Well in short, I want it to be able to easily win the WCC Series. It is currently equipped with all of the best items at maximum hosepower. I'm not too interested in B-Spec'ing it right now, so I'll stick with A-Spec. The problem I'm having is that in order for it to handle well I've had to cut down on horsepower. There is always 1 car in that race that has an exceptionally larger amount of power than the rest of the field, so I must set the Vette up at max power. But at max power the car is completely out of control. I've attempted to tune it a few different ways on my own, and as previously mentioned I tried Duck's setup. So far none of htem have worked out to well.

On a side note, is there a car out there that I can handily win that series with if the 69 Vette doesn't pan out?

Is the WCC the race that allows the Buick Special? And what car is it that has so much more power than everything else?

You misunderstand. What I'm asking is if you have ever seen the Buick Special in the race. If you have, it's a good thing because it means you can enter race cars (the Buick Special is rightly so counted in the game as a tuner vehicle). I'l take a crack at the '69 'Vette later. There may be a car that is faster that you could use. You have to win it though.

I havn't seen the Special in the race, but I do know it accepts race cars because I took a crack at it with my Honda S800 Race Car. Let me know how the Vette works out. ;)

Using this setup I was able to beat the A/C Cars 427 S/C by 5 seconds at El Capitan in the WCC Race 3.

if all you want is win that race why not hop on the buick special and blow them all away? it is absolutely no problem to do so as the buick gives the ai no chance whatsoever.
or are you a special corvette addict :yuck:

Well I tried your setup Toronado, but for some reason I only had 399 HP instead of your listed 413. The car handled well, but that AC Car just kept pulling away on the straights. You must have some amazing driving skills to beat the AC at Capitan. So yeah, I went the easy route and got the Buick Special. Now I need to find me something for the Boxer Spirit.

Did you perform the oil change? The Cobra was pretty much even on the straights with me, and I made up the rest in the turns. Boxer Spirit? Suburu Impreza WRX STi 22B or RUF BTR.

Yeah I forgot to do the oil change. That made a significant diference. The Impreza STI 22b did an exccelent job for the Boxer Spirit as well as the One-Make race. Thanks for the help. :)
