'70 Challenger RM Tune??

I really am not sure why I spent credits on this RM version, except that a '70 Challenger was the actual first car i ever owned in real life. Had the factory bored out 340 CI small block that Dodge called the 383 Magnum, mated with a Chrysler 300 automatic. Factory Hooker headers; factory Eldelbrock high-rise manafold; Holley 650 carb; 8mpg is if I was idling around; 6mpg on the pedal; 356 BHP. This car was so cool it had an 8-track tape deck with Quadrophonic sound.

Enough nostalgia. The GT5 version of this car behaves very much like the real version. Any suggestions on a tune to try and control this straight-line pig? I have all of the mods on this RM.

Thank you very much. You are right, this car will not corner, but i find it an old school blast to drive. You can really toss this into a corner and sling this thing around.

And in real life, if you are determined, young and stupid, you can out run the county sherriff at 2:00 Am!!

First things first. There was no factory bored out 340 called a 383 Magnum. Second, there is no such thing as a Chrysler 300 automatic. Chrysler automatic transmissions back then were the A904 and A727. Next, there was no such thing as Factory Hooker headers or factory Edelbrock high-rise manifold.

You could get a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 225 slant six, 318 or 340 small block (LA), 383 or 440 big block (B/RB), or the 426 Hemi (obviously another big block). They all came with very restrictive cast iron exhaust manifolds, including the Hemi.

The RM version that is on GT5 isn't close to being correct. They were called a Dodge Challenger T/A (Trans-Am) and they came with a 340 Six Pack (3 two barrel carbs) and a flat black fiberglass hood (with small scoop), not the 426 Hemi that is on the game.

ypo are correct on all counts. Too many years have gone by. I bought it used; 1974 for $1,500. RT model, 383 was a big block. headers and manfold were aftermarket. Tranny was an automatic, but i don't remember model. With headers and manfols and Thrush exhaust i am guessing at eh 350 + bhp. It was a great car for a 17 year old!

Thanks for the correcrtion.
