That's right... the SAME thing that happened to Steve Irwin happened to this guy in my city. The difference? This guy survived, and he didn't pull out the barb.

Basically, Steve Irwin probably killed himself by removing the barb and breaking the seal. The barb got sucked into the old guy and got sucked tighter into the hole in his heart with each beat, maintaining his blood pressure and preventing heavy leakage. I'll let you guys read the story. These Sting Rays have gone wild!

What a freaky accident. I did see a video on the youtube of the kid who got stabbed in the hand by one of those things, while trying pull out the fish hook. They are dangerous, even on land. Stay away.
