900° Interior Wheel Rotation

I was in a caterham and I was stationary but when I steered full lock I could wiggle the wheels without moving the steering wheel on the car because it doesn't have 900 degrees. Your idea is simple but effective.

Try pressing and holding Select, Start, Triangle on your G27. This matches GT6s cockpit animation with a reduction of lock down to 180°. It also quickens up the steering significantly. To set it back to 900° press and hold Select, Start, X. Circle and Square also reduce the lock to two other points.

This doesn't fix the issue as the animation only goes 180° no matter what but it's a start.

180° may be synchronized to the cockpit wheel, but it's not the same as 900°....

You are right. 900° is better for the cars that have a bigger steering lock.

I guess the reason they left it at 180° animation is that you get awkward hand movements and the games doesn't know what you are going to do next. I remember GT4 having more movement in the open top cars but I don't remember what it looked like.

Check out the hand movements in Assetto Corsa. This is one of the first racing games that I've seen where this is handled (no pun intended) smoothly. I can't find a youtube vid of it offhand, but it has a nice hand-over-hand animation path that is relatively realistic.

They do look quite good in Assetto Corsa. Similar hand movements to Live for Speed. The hands even relocate properly when gears are changed with more lock than 90° one way. I'm impressed.

Just have 900° wheel animations default for wheel users, & what we have now default for DS3 users.
