Cameron Diaz and Lady Gaga should really be called out..

Your suggestion being that they should work for free?

Given some of your previous comments where you invite us to boggle at your astonishing economic understanding... can you see how supply-and-demand works when you have a loooot of fans and one Lady Gaga, for instance?

Alternately; perhaps you think that with an almost-unlimited disposable income then one must be happy? I doubt you could be that shallow though, so it can't be that.

@TenEightyOne

Have you ever watched a celebrity gossip show like ET? If not what I find so hypocritical about Ms Diaz and Ms Gaga bashing of fame and its trappings in that video is fact they they really love the fame they claim to despise when they're appearing one of these shows.

Of course they have a right make money but they should'nt be hypocritical about it.

Speaking of I think the Kardashians/Jenners should make a PSA educating folks about their unattainable/unrealistic lifestyle.

It sure was nice of you to give Tupac a pass on this matter, then, since fame rather... er, famously, made him dead.

@Tornado

I can't speak for Tupac because I as never really followed his career. Anyhow I think all of this fame bashing is nothing but an act to help their image...in the end these celebrities are just full of themselves.

You can't speak for any of them, given that you are not them .

Rather a large amount of hot air and baseless assumptions is what I see, that interestingly say's a lot about you rather than your target's.

Be a celebrity and maybe, get to see and feel what it's like, rich, famous, and all the baggage that came with it.
There are plenty of celebrities that have great careers and fly under the radar because they choose to. Most of their baggage is self created IMO. If you don't want baggage do your job and stay out of the limelight. When was the last time you heard about Harrison Ford or one of his five kids having some kind of public issue? How often is Julia Roberts in the tabloids? If you choose the Hollywood lifestyle it's ludicrous to complain about all the baggage that goes with it, especially when we have 90 years of history to go along with it.

Sometimes I feel pity for some of them, many actors and actress have difficult life and turbulent career, from Wynona Ryder, Jean Claude Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren, Robin Williams, Edward Furlong, Heath Ledger, just to name a few, some of them have passed away in tragic manner.

I always wondered how Hollywood celebrities can be very secluded from media ? Like for example, Mark Hamill, only recently when he was cast in the Flash series and Star Wars that media starts to give him coverage ... I always liked his acting, especially in the old Flash series in 90's, so much fun to watch and convincing. Mark Hamill, one of the great actors that went downhill in career after massive blockbusters ...

By being "boring". There's no milage for a journalist in "Famous person gets an early night" or "Celebrity has no issue with other celebrity". People aren't interested in that stuff; they want to hear about more successful people behaving in a way they can look down upon, because it makes them feel better about themselves and distracts them from their own dreary, unimportant little lives for 5 minutes.

There's your problem right there. You think Mark Hamill was a great actor:lol::lol::lol:

Please don't laugh at my opinion about someone being great or not. I get that not many people I know consider Mark Hamill as great actor, not everybody has same view on acting performance.

Look at Mickey Rourke, he had tough career and life, but his role in the Wrestler received critical acclaim, and most of mates years before always mocked him for no talent actor. I think every actor/actress needs that perfect role in a movie to hit their best/peak performance.

@A2K78 - Having worked with celebrities from time to time... it's incredible how hard some of them have to work to get to where they are. It's no joke to be putting in sixteen to twenty hour days running between gigs/appearances/show-tapings/etcetera, interviews, second and/or third jobs (the smart ones invest their money in outside businesses... music/book publishing, food/retail, etcetera) and home.

And in the spare time they do have to do "normal" things, they can get mobbed by fans and paparazzi. I just spent the weekend working a cycling event with a guy (former racer turned actor) who got mobbed by people wanting selfies wherever he went. It was unbelievable. He actually had to hide for some of the event simply to keep from drawing too much attention to himself, thus missing out on the prize they gave to the finishers.

I guess it can be difficult for many people to understand that a stage persona is just that, a stage persona. That stage persona sometimes does scream "LOOK AT ME" out loud to the world at large, but that doesn't mean that the person behind the persona wants their private life out in the open.

There are celebrities who live a quiet life who are still hounded by the press and fans, like "Brangelina." True, they do manage to live a quiet life, but it's something they have to actively work for. Others move to different countries or states just for that. Yes, you do get to live a "normal" life, but not exactly where you might want to live or how you might want to live.

And it's not something that necessarily "comes with the territory"... fame is a fickle, unpredictable thing. Granted, some celebrities court it, and actually actively attract attention to themselves, but this isn't always the case.

Regardless of the circumstances of the original post, the video is pretty interesting. I don't like the overtones that somehow government or economic models can define you, though. I think that's one of the big problems that these celebrities are voicing - attempting to allow the world to define them instead of understanding themselves. To turn around and say that nobody should hit the "lottery" while people are starving in the streets is to continue to make the same mistake - blaming society for your lack of happiness. If you don't want to be rich because you're worried about poor people... there are so many ways that a rich person can try to help people with their resources.

Overall I think it's a good reminder to all of us that happiness comes from within. That's the real message, don't delude yourself into thinking that money can change who you are.

Edit:

Also, who can convincingly deliver that message besides people who have fame and fortune?
