Since most everyone has certain cars they wish would be in GT6 but likely will not be for whatever reason.... a cool feature would be a DLC car dealership. In this feature... you can place an order for whatever car you would like to have but is not included in the game. There are numerous pictures, video and information about nearly any car that exist to create for a game. It would presumably take time and would cost but once completed, it would be added to an online dealership for everyone to purchase and download. Obviously licensing would have to be approved so Porsche fans... if Porsche isn't in the game, then obviously you wouldn't be able to order. But if the manufacturer is in the game but the car you want isn't, then you can order it.Thoughts?

Well, not exactly. You would order your car online. They would then make the car to download for you. Then the car would be added to an online dealership which included other cars people had specially ordered for people to choose from and purchase as DLC individual cars as well. Obviously there would be charges for each. In essence, you could have your wish list if you choose to pay for it.

Obviously, I would like to see something like this added. But realistically, it's not going to happen. It would be a huge risk for PD to model a car when there's only going to be one definite buyer. I mean, someone might ask PD to model a G-Wiz, but realistically, not everyone will buy it, so there is a chance that the money used to make it is greatly shadowed by the money earned from it.

Another problem is simply the lack of employees at PD to do the jobs. If such a feature were to be implemented, there's going to be at least a thousand requests, for 40+ guys to fulfil.

I agree it would be expensive for them to do which is why I said there would be different charges for different things. To specially order the car would be expensive. I think the part that would make PD consider it beneficial would be the dealership part. These cars would cost more, not nearly as much as the initial special order, but to be able to sell mass amounts of a finished car for a decent amount would offset the production costs. It would be expensive to order, but these games aren't released every year like NFS and other franchises. This game is played for a long period of time and to have a car you really wanted would be costly but possible.

The vote is a good idea as well.

If PD say "5 cars a month only," as Rudenut suggested, then what PD can do is set up a poll, like you said, and the top 5 voted cars would be the ones they should model.

I think it's a simple idea that might work, though one month for PD to get one of the cars, and then model it, and then record the way it drives, might be too short of time for them.

With the pace they move, you might be right. LOL I think they make enough money to hire a few people to improve their product and work flow. I think that is very possible. I don't think it is probable but it is something that would enhance this game and put it on a different level than any other game.

I don't know about you but I have driven enough Imprezza and GT-Rs in order to drive/ buy a car that I semi-like, to think the game needs a definite boost in car selection.

I do think in the future this will be the way driving simulator games are constructed. Drive whatever car you want wherever in the world you want to drive against whoever you want to drive against. That would be ideal and I don't think we are to far away from that scenario.

Great theory but im thinking PD would have to scan the Specs of every Under License car manufacturer, plus sound, and proper motion video, in and out of cars. Im sure other things exist legalities being 1 of many. If PD had such a data base, then yes im for it but they would have to develop it purposely.

I agree it would take time. You might have to wait a month or two before you could receive the car you order or cars voted upon. They do have a massive database already considering the cars that were in GT 1-5 and ones which were scanned and not included. That list I am sure doesn't include half of the cars people would like to have so there would be a wait but considering the wait for GT5 and now GT6... the amount of time you play these games, a month or two to drive a car you really want isn't bad at all.

So people request cars they scan it take a few months and the car will be there for everyone. Ex: I want a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, so I give a request somehow to PD that I'd like this car to be in the game. Wait a few months for it to come out then everyone can pay for it. Sounds cool. I don't see how they could manage all the request. Probably millions will be requesting many different cars.

True. Hopefully there would be a lot of request, that would mean it works and was worth the investment. The idea is that many request would be for the same car such as your example would be my request too. LOL.

I think if you special order a car then you would pay a premium due to unknown number of other requests for the same car.

I think a great idea was the vote for 5 cars a month. A couple posters have mentioned PD is a small company and the work would be too much for them, but obviously they would have to expand for this feature if they can't meet the demand, which obviously they have the funds to hire a couple people.

It's not as simple as you make it seem. A public poll won't work since car manufacturers wouldn't be happy about the negative press when they see their cars lose. And even if it's done more discretely, issues arise from user selection. PD probably isn't making car inclusion decisions on their own, I'm sure the manufacturers also have a lot of pull. In addition, even though I'm sure PD wants every relevant car in their game, time, money and man power only allow a small selection to be added every so often. And for every car it adds, it needs a licensing agreement and access to the car, which can be problematic. PD shouldn't be flying over the moon to get a 250 GTO into the game when there's another perfectly good car to be added at less cost. PD should listen to the fans, but not let them dictate their content. It would be completely inefficient to do so. PD is doing what they can to get as many cars as possible into GT6, in contact with manufacturers and contacting owners, doing what they can.

Also, democracy isn't a beautiful thing: it's the majority taking precedence over the minority. And the majority is just a little scary to me. With such a system, "fame" takes precedence over almost all else, making famous cars more likely to be included. Hidden gems are more likely to be ignored, and that would bother me. I want to see lesser known race cars, such as the Nissan NP35, Jag XJR-14 and Toyota TS010, in GT6, but if the fans chose the cars, these would never make it. It's still slim chances PD includes such cars, but I prefer slim to none.

The 250 GTO was mainly an example. I get the poll thing. I think it would usually be more modern cars than anything else that get the vote. Dunno. This feature seems cool, but there are a lot of glitches. It's mainly just something to think about.

Topic is totally off from the actual post, well from what I thought it was, I don't think "what you want" DLC would work, just do like Turn 10 and be more active in the community, problem solved.

I thought the topic meant a more car show type environment, where you can see upcoming DLC cars. They can tease some with covers on some cars with only some parts showing, maybe give it free for those who guess correctly, etc.

I like that.

This sounds like one of the most impossible things that has ever been requested of a video game company.

I didn't say it would be easy. It is just an idea and one I think the we will see some type of in the future. It is a video game so in theory, it should be what the fans and people who pay for the game want not what a single designer wants. It is probably impracticle but not impossible. I'm not saying this will happen anytime soon, just a thought to be discussed as whether it is something you would like to see, etc. I, like many, find the biggest negative to a great game otherwise is the car selection in the game. I am not a big fan personally of 300 GT-Rs and Imprezzas while there are so few Shelbys, Lambos, CoPo Camaros, and Ferraris (particularly classics). It would be cool to be able to drive what you want to drive when you want to drive and where you want to drive. I think in future this may be something we see in games. Its just an idea about how to go about achieving that goal. Obviously there are huge hurtles to jump to make it happen, it is just an idea to discuss, which is very interesting
