before you play your next GT5 session:

1) Turn on your PS3

2) insert a formatted FAT32 USB Flash memory stick or removable HDD in to the PS3 USB

3) Locate the GT5 save game data on the PS3

4) Copy it to USB

5) Copy any exported replays or photos you wish to cherish and show your grandchildren how Grandpa used to drive cars back in the day when we actually had to use steering wheels and gasoline.

6) remove USB device from PS3 port.

7) connect USB device to your computer, laptop or non-apple* tablet (*HAHA you need a usb port for this)

8) copy the save game folder from USB stick to 2 different locations and or harddrives to your mainframe computer.

9) Verify copied folder that it contains the save file greater than 0 bytes (if at 0 bytes, you have corrupted save data all could be lost at this point with a YLOD PS3.

if 0 bytes save game, goto Step 1 and try again, if still fails, do a windows scandisk on your USB drive, autofix errors, goto step 1)

10) click on safe to remove hardware in system tray to eject the USB from windows

11) physically remove the USB stick when the "it is now safe to remove your device...." message appears.

12) why aren't you playing GT5 yet? Get!

Thanks, I'll do this sometime. But piece of 🤬 Windows became corrupted and made my computer virtually worthless.

install Windows 7 (home premium., or pro , 64bit) to a new Harddrive. Fix your old windows later :)

I alternate two USB flash drives and save after each session. It's pretty unlikely that one would have two flash drives corrupted at the same time and it's a lot easier than transporting to a PC.

You could also add in there to create another Playstation profile and copy data to it. You can never have too many backups!
