I have been playing GT5 every day since Thanksgiving.
What a great ride.

I'm running out of things to do now sad to say.

I have an awesome Race Car collection and only have a few left to collect.

I'll still play once in a while and do the seasonals but for the most part I'm just about done.

I traded for a few cars but Grinded for most of them myself.

No telling how many laps I have at Indy American Championship, Ha Ha.

Anyway, I got more than my money's worth of entertainment from GT5
surely just pennies per hour cost.

Anyone else winding down by now?

I'm winding down too. I have 95% of the trophies, including Gold Standard, but have no motivation to grind to reach lvl 40 Aspec or 1000 cars. With F1 testing beginning next week, I'll be doing more and more F1 racing in rFactor in preperation for the F1 season.

It was a good run, GT5 is a great, but very flawed game. Hopefully by the end of the 2011 F1 season they'll have released so many updates it's like a whole new game, and I'll be back full time again. :)

I hit Bspec 40 yesterday, and Bob is currently finishing Nurburgring 24hr. After he's done, my PS3 will be getting a proper rest for a while - only on for me to play, which probably won't be more than a couple hours a week.

Still loving the game, but I'm somewhat relieved I don't feel pressured by it anymore.

I don't see how anyone could winding down yet. GT5P last me years, online is just magical, a different game entirely.

Now some people may just prefer to be offline, and I do feel that A-Spec wasn't close to perfect, but the driving physics do make just driving a lot of fun. Why not try to set some lap times goals for yourself on a few tracks?

"Pressured" by it? Seriously? Sounds like you do need a rest, to be honest.

Online racing.

I'm currently in an online GT300 event waiting for the next race to start. This race has 16 drivers and it really is CLEAN racing. You have to hook up with the right people to get the most out of what the online experience can offer. This is a blast.

Super GT and Group C racing are the best online. They are fairly common rooms and most of the drivers that enter are well behaved from my experience. When you get a full room with either of those rules it just becomes beyond additcting. I have so many replays.

I'll be done with GT5 when GT6 comes out. Got my copy the day before official release and have pretty much played a couple of hours everyday since. I'm still only on level 30 however but even after reaching the level 40 cap this games nowhere near done for me...

WRS anyone? :)

i got frustrated with grinding, but you can make it a bit more entertaining by using the most unlikely car possible ie polyphony cup trial mountain using my cappnchino rm best result of 2nd 2.4 seconds behind the GT-R. Now im playing online a lot more and when youre in the right room its really good fair racing.

I too have had GT5 since release. Play it as much as I can between work/family. Love every minute of it. Sessioning all the cars I wish I had in real life. Meeting nice folks online. Seriously I don't see this this a game, where I need to finish and be done. It's a different experience. I played GT5P from beginning to end and loved it. So you can imagine how much I like GT5. It's got so many layers.

And as for the grind. non existant for me. I am level 26 in A spec, just finished beginner and amatuer in A spec, am about level 3 in B spec! lol. So much to do in the this game it just silly.

I'm still only just getting started.
Taking the game slowly car by car, not caring how quickly I 'finish' the events...
That's the way to go Gran Turismo in my opinion.

Nope the Journey has just began , Ok i'm at 97% in Terms of Game Completion but there's a few more Cars I wan't to find .

After that i'll tune the life out of them to suit my Tastes , that leaves Online , Seasonals , Future Updates e.t.c .

I don't Play it as much as before simply now because I don't need to Win anything now , but theres still lots to do regarding driving and improving my Skill Level is the Main Focus for me .

Only got the Suzuka Vettell Challenge to Achieve just a Bronze will be a Major Achievement in my Case .

After that i might go and Try for Better Times in the Licences simply to get better .

Today I got 6 more Golds in the Licence Tests which is a Start .

Even went back to the AMG Challenge and i've improved on Average by 7 Seconds per Test . thats not bad but I wan't to get better .

For me the game is just begining...WRS + Online also seasonal races and TT's look like they'll carry on being updated weekly...still lovin' it :)

Online will keep me going. As far as playing the game offline, you could say im done. Im mostly just doing seasonal races, im done grinding, that got really annoying. As long as you find a room with people who actually know how to race clean, there's no reason this game shouldn't entertain for years to come.

DTM races online are a lot of fun and are generally very close races. Online Ferrari F1 races are also very good, especially when driving around real F1 tracks.

I've never really get tired of Gran Turismo. I enjoy just driving my favorite cars around the different tracks in practice mode if I don't feel like racing.

If you have completed the game in offline mode, is there any value to going back and doing it with lower hp cars? Be honest... did you overmuscle to beat many of the races?

Maybe it's time to play the game like you would have HAD TO if the game were designed well in the first place. Play with a car from the MIDDLE of the 'Typical Opponents' pack, not one with 50-100 extra hp.

I won't be tired of this game for years to come, plenty of things to do and keep busy with. Moderation is key, however....don't burn yourself out. Invent something new to try and set some goals, endless possibilities really :)

This is pretty much exactly how I feel about the game. I'm not rushing it at all, just taking my time now and trying different cars, and fine tuning the ones I really like, and then just driving them...

I mean, this is the Real Driving Simulator, is it not?

A great ride?
Yes 👍
Coming to an end?
Oh no, it's just the beginning :D

I'm feeling the same.

Online as so much to offer, from league to matchmaking with friends or total stranger. I like it. So much variety. I like also to try my tune car online and see where it fit.

Yeah, just driving around the Nurburgring is fun.
Don't need to have a hardcore race all the time.

I don't mean pressured in an everyday sense - I mean I don't feel like I have any immediate goals in-game anymore. I don't *want* to keep working towards an arbitrary goal, because I've met all of the ones which are immediately realistic.

I've actually barely played in the last couple weeks - it's just I've felt like if I was playing, I should be working towards one of those goals.

Funny how the only place you can drive on is RACE TRACKS, though... :sly:

There's so much about real racing that is wrong with the game, its fans keep saying it is a DRIVING game to excuse this, but I keep wondering if this was Kaz's REAL intent, why we don't just have free roam maps and lots of nice scenery to gaze at while we dawdle round..? I mean, why not have the Grand Tour just be driving from one location to the next through the Italian scenery? Seems a shame to miss out on all that DRIVING, and be forced to actually RACE. ;)
