A large Photomerged 458 collection

Ok, I used to do this with my Forza 3 pics. Its takes a while and can be laborious but the images do look nice.
Basicaly i Zoom in on the image and take anything from 6-12 shots starting from one side and then moving long shot after shot. I then have to crop the shot so that the GT logo is removed and then used PS CS5 and photomerged them all together resulting in a finished image of approx. 5217x1710 resolution.
I then ran it through Topaz Detail to bring out the reflection of the cobbles on the bumper/body.
It used to really bring out the detail in the Forza cars but the GT5 cars are already very detailed. Whether it works i dont know. Excuse the boring compostion, i just want to try and see if i can still do this. Will try some slightly more stylish ones perhaps one day.

How did you get that high of resolution? my brother and I use 2x magnification and it's still not 5000X3000 like the 18 megapixel pics PD gave us

GT5 Panorama for the win, I would never have thought of it in my life although my dad does panos all the time :ouch:...

Unbelievably good!

The light level on the front brake disc is disturbing me slightly... but that's got nothing to do with your technique :D

Great work indeed. I guess you'll always bring more out of Forza shots this way as (like you said) GT5 has a better output image and quality to start with.

I'm usually pretty good with these in Forza 3 and MC:LA, but not GT5 - I seem to have trouble keeping the camera screwed down, and there may be some effects from time passage (i.e. the sky) - I'll try on a daytime location like those seen here (great stuff, BTW) but this is a 25% version that I didn't feel was worth full-size output:

lllSeanTlll you have given me hope...

Well, it's not much composition-wise, but this one works. Large version here

Can't wait to try this w/2x size photo travel shots

You take allot of pictures close up on the car. Then you cut all the photos together to make it look like on large photo.

Does it only work fully zoomed in? I had a go at the Red Bull Hangar and ended up with too much background repetition in each photo. CS5 got confused and deleted half the background scenery.

I usually end up zooming about 2/3 in, because I do them manually (PS doesn't choke so much that way) cuz I'm still on CS3  fully zoomed would mean a dozen or more pics many times.

This is made out of 3x3 2x images:

Full size (20Mb!) here I pre-ordered from Amazon because I felt this was the best pre-order car offered...

Here's a stitched panorama from the grand tour - whenever I take shots from races they seem to easily become misaligned; assembled, this 2x4 stitch resembled a triangle with pics on the left merging almost into a single row - almost half the picture needed to be trimmed to allow a rectangular shape. :scared:
