What were some of the first posts you had, or first threads you made?

The first thread I made was called "Looking for LMP Racers", but I had put it in the Site Support section:ouch:

Share you early thoughts/memories/whatever you want to share, about your early days on :gtpflag:

I can't find my first post, and I'm a little nervous to see it. When I first joined I was like "O_O SO MUCH STUFF. HOW DO I USE THIS SITE???" Over time, it got better and I really enjoyed it.

I do remember the time I posted in the GT5 Marketplace asking for a Volvo 240 GLT. People wanted gold chrome for it. I thought I was getting ripped off!

The first time I joined GTP was to take part in a street racing league.
I spent most of my time in Clubs & Leagues before I started to branch out into other areas of the forum.

I remember my first post, it was only about 8 months back. Funny story, my first 200 posts or so were all written as simplistically as possible because I had a godawfully crap tablet that took umpty-trillion years to type sentences

Looking back, you could pretty much tell I was a forum noob.

If only newly 18 year old me knew what was going to happen...

I remember a similar thread on GTP.

My first post was about pitstops at the Nürnburgring in GT4.

I can say this much, my early posts made me seem like an idiot and a forum noob (which was true but still...)

EDIT: I also spent way to much time in the Minecraft thread (very strongly dislike that game now by the way).

My first post, August 5, 2004:
TB
Lisa: That's ridiculous. No body has a catchphrase.
(Homer knocks over a lamp)
Homer: D'oh!
Bart: Ay Currumba!
Marge: Hmmm!
Barney: Burp!
Nelson: Ha ha!
Maggie: (sucks on pacifier)
Flanders: Hi-didilly-ho!
Mr. Burns: Excellent.

Silence

Lisa: (defeated) If anyone needs me, I'll be in my room. (walks out)
Homer: What kind of a catchphrase is that?
And the quality still hasn't gone up in almost 10 years.

I heard of GTplanet in 09 when FM3 was coming out. I bought Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and I started following GT a-lot more afterwards. About early 2010 someone posted a thread saying they were giving away a active theme for GT5P so I signed up. I never did get the theme. Later on I found the FM section and I followed that for a bit. Gran Turismo 5 came out and I just lurked and posted from time to time. Good site, kinda miss the old flat and dull design.

October 13th 2010. The day joined and the night I asked the most important question of my life.

Does anyone know what song is played during the Japanese GP on the BBC? It was some kind of trance song used for the review of the qualifying sessions and its played near the beginning (at about 2.09 minutes) of the highlights on BBC iplayer.

I was so close to joining an F1 forum instead so I could ask that, but after finding a thread dealing with those questions in this site and being an old fan of GT anyway, I though it more appropriate to join the 'Planet.

I'm still thankful I got the answer I wanted just a few hours later, courtesy of @Touring Mars. 👍

Great Club.

Started off mostly in the Clubs and Leagues section and started looking around the whole planet after a while. (Used to be a lurker. lol)

My first post:

The new seasonals suck you will get more money doing aspic.

Link to that thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/seasonal-7-up.178257/page-5#post-4800503

IIRC, "aspic" was supposed to be "aspec" but the iPad autocorrected it.

My second post:

I have an excellent jump track. Flipped my X1. Add me my PSN is the same as my username. When you add me tell me you're from gtplanet.

Link to that thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/want-a-track-with-huge-jumps.177700/#post-4800512

After I posted in there, I think I got about 35 friend requests...

---

My first thread:

In the introduce yourself section, I never got a reply...

My first post was:

My first car was an MR2 1600 G-Limited. Its colour was Blue Mica :)
First took it to one of the Sunday Cup races which takes place in Tahiti Road...

It's in the thread "First car", under the Gran Turismo 2 section. It was June 17, 2009.

Second post was me posting an incorrect answer in the "Guess a car" thread under the same section. It was October 19, 2009.

Primera Wagon?

The time difference between the first and second post was three months! It just shows how much of a lurker I am, eh. I'm not that much of a poster now as well, though. Still only 321 posts!

How can you tell what your first post was? I knew how to get it when GTP was running vBulletin but I'm not too sure with XenForo.

The first reason I posted on GTPlanet was because I'd been looking for a setup for a Toyota Minolta, then I out of curiosity clicked forums, gt5 and then online racing, and the rest is history!

This is what I did:

1.) Go to "Your Content" under your username tab.
2.) Click on the last page number.
3.) Click on "Find older messages".
4.) Click on the last page number again. Your first post should be at the bottom of the page.

If it's not there, maybe you have to repeat some steps again and again. (hmm...that would be painful for those with thousands of posts) I only had 320 posts when I was posting my first message in this thread, so maybe people with thousands of posts have to use a different way. I don't know...

Let's see. I had been around as a visitor a few times when I decided to finally try to pitch in. I made one post in a little over three months...

In the GT PSP area...

On the Car/Dealership cycle thread.

Yeah. Here's the whole post...

BKGlover
I have uploaded my list to Google Apps, and made it editable by anyone.

I have started to add some of the data found in this thread into the list, but I made it shareable so others can add to it too. I am mainly doing the Mini Starter at the moment.
I'm new to this so forgive me, but is there any way I could get access to this? I had to restart my game so I can fill in some of the dates for the 206.

Never heard anything about it either. After that, five post in quick succession, then silence again until I got into the GT PSP "Guess That Track" thread.

First post was on November 22nd, 2011. I was looking to trade for a Ferrari and got one for free because people are awesome.
Hi, well i guess i should introduce myself... my name is ildd, been a GT fan since 2002 on ps2, i just got my 1st PS3 October 1st, and since them ive bought GT5. right now im level 14, but i found these forums hoping i can get higher, complete races easier, ETC...
my main car starting in level 8 was a Challenger fully loaded with all the good stuff. just bought a Lamborghini Gallardo to do that 1 race, but i got a little addicted to it and added on until i won gold in that race(40k later)
but, now i need a Ferrari.
like i said im new so i dont know how everythin here works... but, yea.
hope i stay here.

And then I was corrected because I didn't know that I had to capitalize I's. Probably why I didn't get good essay grades back then...

Can't exactly find my first post, but I do believe I had lurked around for a bit and then started posting up in the Gran Turismo PSP forum. It was a decent size back when it first came out and I almost always posted on the drift leaderboards.

I search back about 200 posts only to find that was about 2 weeks ago

Wish I knew how to go back that far.

On my original account in 2008:

I actually have a somewhat funny story about this, I went into a Gamestop with the intention to preorder Prologue, but this is transpired despite my attempts to turn the other way...

I went in, looked around and did the usual, at last I went up to one of these so-called "gamers" and asked when Prologue was to be released because I wasn't sure myself and this guy tells me it was to be released on the 17th, I retorted with the question "Wasn't it supposed to be released on the 15th if one wishes to purchase, and on the 17th if one wishes to purchase from PSN?" This guy tells me no and that the release date is the 17th all around. So this other dude who was standing behind me (also a GT fanatic I presume) says that it will be released on the 15th if you wish to purchase it from the store he had proof from some magazine which I didn't get a proper viewing of, but in any case...a customer made an employee look...stupid.

I was always under the impression that these people were supposed to...know.

Oh, and by the way, hello to you all. :dopey:

And when I rejoined in 2009 as, well, me. :P

Didn't see a welcome thread anywhere (unless I somehow looked over one) so I figured here was as good as any.

Greetings. :sly:

In any case, I'm 21 and I've been playing since the third installment which was a chance encounter because a friend of mine rented it out of the blue. Needless to say, I fell in love and almost immediately backtracked (didn't have a PS2 at the time) I brought GT2, and then the first.

Even with GT5 on the way, and Prologue in it's place...the second still remains my favorite.

The oldest thing I can think of without having to sort through a ton of stuff... The first post in the general anime thread. It's over ten years old now and still holds spot #1 for an insanely long thread of people ranting on about the anime and manga they love. 👍

From Feb. 15, 2003

I wanted to bring up this subject, then I noticed a Macross theard... so once I knew there were anime fans here, it was on.

So I ask you,

Who watches anime?

What animes do you like?

Are you into anything else directly related to anime?

What is your fav. anime series?

What is your fav. anime movie?

hope to hear from you guys...
