Slayer is the best in metal, besides me, who else thinks they are the best?
Has anyone seen them live, besides me?
Anyone have anything intersting news about this band?

Slayer's official web site
You can see Slayer along with other bands this summer on Ozzfest 2004.

I love slayer as much as the next metal head but it seams they are not as good as they use to be... I wish they would go back to there old ways, there songs where so dam good!

I do like Slayer's old 80's style music back then when they were more aggressive and more "satanic" such as with "Evil Has No Boundaries", "The Antichrist" and "Show No Mercy". Since most of my favorite songs are from the 90's I prefer their newer stuff such as "Death's Head" "Scrum" "In the Name of God" "Point" and "Staind of Mind".

Their earlier stuff was ALOT better. Reign in Blood and Seasons in the Abyss would be some of the best Metal albums of all time. Their new stuff, however, isn't too bad either. They don't seem to be like other old bands that sell out, or change music style all together, they've kept up to date with the current Heavy Metal scene, all the while keeping their old aggression. I still think they're a great band, and they would be my favourite Metal band of all time. I have all albums, concert dvds and many posters, shirts, etc. But as you can tell from my Metal Thread, I don't confine myself to this band all the time.

It started in the 80's, that was the whole big thing back then. They are LEGENDS of Metal, and they gave Metal one of the biggests pushes, along with Sabbath and Metallica. Plus, you should listen for the Music mainly, not the lyrics or theme.

If its by Slayer, I'll listen to anything don't matter what the lyrics or theme are about.

The whole devil worshipping thing is totally 👎
For me its: 👍 👍 👍
According to Guitar World Magazine:
Is it true that you and the rest of Slayer worship Satan? If so, how does it influence your guitar playing? - Aaron Diamont

KK: Since I don't Belive in God, I can't believe in Satan. But it's more fun to write about Satan.

Auschwitz, the meaning of pain
The why that I want you to die
Slow death, immense decay
Showers that cleanse you of your life
Forced in
Like cattle
You run
Stripped of
Your life's worth
Human mice, for the Angel of Death
Four hundred thousand more to die
Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Sadistic, surgeon of demise
Sadist of the noblest blood

Destroying, without mercy
To benefit the Aryan race

Surgery, with no anesthesia
Fell the knife pierce you intensely
Inferior, no use to mankind
Strapped down screaming out to die
Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death

Pumped with fluid, inside your brain
Pressure in your skull begins pushing through your eyes
Burning flesh, drips away
Test of heat burns your skin, your mind starts to boil
Frigid cold, cracks your limbs
How long can you last
In this frozen water burial?
Sewn together, joining heads
Just a matter of time
'Til you rip yourselves apart
Millions laid out in their
Crowded tombs
Sickening ways to achieve
The holocaust
Seas of blood, bury life
Smell your death as it burns
Deep inside of you
Abacinate, eyes that bleed
Praying for the end of
Your wide awake nightmare
Wings of pain, reach out for you
His face of death staring down,
Your blood running cold
Injecting cells, dying eyes
Feeding on the screams of
The mutants he's creating
Pathetic harmless victims
Left to die
Rancid Angel of Death
Flying free

[LEADS: HANNEMAN, KING, HANNEMAN, KING, HANNEMAN]

Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death

Angel of Death

Sorry, double post

Equal best Slayer song ever (with Raining Blood)! Also, I thought, too, that Slayer was touring in the Jager-tour with KSE, but it says nothing about KSE on the Jagermeister Website:

Now in their fourth year as Tour Meisters, the folks at Jägermeister look forward to their Fall Tour, bringing back the band that led last year’s charge – Slayer.

Look for the Jägermeister Music Tour (Fall 2004) to kick off in late fall. In the meantime, watch for Jägermeister at concerts and shows throughout the country featuring the over 150 bands sponsored by Jägermeister. And of course, look for Jägermeister at this year’s Ozzfest. This marks the fifth year that Jägermeister has been a sponsor of hard rock’s most popular and successful spectacle. This year, the biggest ever for Jägermeister with Ozzfest, the Jägermeister tent will host signings with Jäger Bands Slayer, Hatebreed, Dimmu Borgir, Unearth, DevilDriver, and Lacuna Coil. For more information, check out www.jagermusic.com or www.jagermeistermusictour.com.

Maybe it's another tour, but I was sure it was the Jagermeister Tour.

I don't think that is the Jagermeister, most of those bands are performing with Ozzfest (Hatebreed, Dimmu Borgir, Unearth, Devil Driver, Lacuna Coil and others). From what I read on the Jagermeister website its Slayer with Guest band Killswitch Engage this fall.

Death's pointed at your head
Your mind's on the trigger pull it
Bludgeon bodies give up their muted horror story
Scene of your rage
Death is not strange
Blood on the walls
You stand alone satisfied
I'll wake the silence in you
I'll shoot the violence
Terrified by the thought that you are all alone
Paralyzed by the fact that you are all alone
You're losing your mind, I'm losing control
You're losing your mind, as I bury your world
I'll wake the silence in you
I'll shoot the violence
I can't remember yet someone always seems to die
You are the reason why I became the chosen one
I've got the right
God makes no sense
I've got the right
I feel my back against the wall

[Lead: Hanneman]

Death's pointed at your head
Your mind's on the trigger pull it
Bludgeon bodies give up their muted horror story
Scene of my rage
Scene of my rage
Death is your name
You're facing your grave
I taste your tears caress your face
I watch you lie insane
Dying for love
Praying to die
I want what's inside you
Dressed in your blood
You wear it well
Dying because I care
Your eyes are wide but you can't see
Rotting my lust away
I'll shoot the violence through you
And wake the part that's dead
I hate the silence in you
I want what's in your head

Death's Head 👍

Maybe you're right, but this came right from the Jagermeister website and it says that they will be signing at the Jagermeister tent, so I'm guessing those bands might have something to do with it this year. I'm not arguing, because I thought KSE would be there too. Ahh, I'll check some news soon on some of my sites later and get back to you if I find anything.

I know Silverzone, you like Metallica, I also like them but Motley Crue is my most favorite band, Metallica is like my 3rd:

I didn't expect Slayer's Video to be #1.

Headbanger's Ball & Revolver Magazine

Quite old news actually.

It's a bull**** list anyway. It's just like the Rolling Stones top 100 guitarists of all time list. Absolute crap.

Indeed. Jack White (The White Stripes) is #17! The bastard can't even string 5 notes together in a 3 minute song! My friend can play a White Stripes song on the drums and guitar at the same time. And the fact that Eddie Van Halen is all the way down at #70 when this useless idiot is in the top 20 really makes me wonder what these guys are on when they make these lists. 👎

Oh, and here's the list for everyone to make fun of: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story?id=5937559

Yeah, and Kurt Cobain top 12? Red Hot Chilli Peppers guitarist top 25? Makes me sick. Alot of that list makes me sick. I can't remember it all though. Post it if you wish. I can't be bothered.

Only for you dude, I think that it rules.

Anyone have any intersting Slayer news?

I'm hoping that they make it down to Australia for our "Big Day Out". Either them or AC/DC. Apparantly at the moment it's only the Beastie Boys 👎. I'll keep all you Australians updated.

Hopefully it will be Slayer. I thought the Beastie Boys were rap? I have heard (and seen) them, at least part of the Song "passing the Mic" as one of the Music Videos on a Beavis and Butthead episode (forgot which one), but the local rock station played many songs by them, and it does sound like rap. (Off topic)

It is rap. But Big Day Out is just mainly alternative, nu metal or punk, with the occasional rap. It usually has a big headline. This years seems to be Beastie Boys, in which case I won't attend. I'll go if it's AC/DC. I doubt it will be Slayer, they said they'll be working on the album in January, which is when the BDO is on.

Now I hate Punk, Alternative, Nu Metal and Rap, so the only reason I would go is to see the headline. Last year's headline was Metallica, but I missed it as I wasn't here.

I also hate Alternative, Rap, and some others. I'm starting to get into Punk. I saw a couple music videos of some punk bands, and it was cool. I also like Hard rock and just all kind of metal.

Now back to Slayer. I am waiting patiently for the new album when it comes out, I also read on Revolver mag. that they are also releasing a new DVD that they performed in Maine, Its called "Reign in Blood Live: Still Reigning"
