A new way of buying cars...

I have read a lot of threads that basically call for the dividing of GT5 into different versions for different regions, resulting in one region getting more of one type than another.

Basically, all of those ideas are bad because they lead to the exclusion of certain cars for certain regions.

My idea is sort of a spin on those other ones, but every car is included. It's simple: Instead of the current way of buying cars(country>make>model), I propose a more region-specific way of doing this.

It would go like this: region>country(of origin)>make>model.
You can choose whatever region you want(Europe, U.S., etc.), basically allowing people to choose if they want to buy a certain car from a different region(example: U.S.-spec mk3 Supra vs. JPN-spec mk3 Supra).
This system could also have different cars per region(example: No Nissan Skyline in the U.S. :)), but those same cars could be found by selecting another region.
Or, it could be used for something as little as which seat the driver sits in(Left-hand-drive Honda S2000s, for example)

I figure this could also be helpful if someone is looking for a particular car(year, make, model, etc.). For example, if somebody wants to recreate their U.S.-spec Mazda RX-7 from 1991(which is the FC here, but FD in GT4), they'll be able to buy that car that they want from the correct year.

Thoughts? Comments? Is this pointless?

It's a similar idea to the one used in Forza, but in Forza all cars could be had in all regions. The region you picked made certain cars harder to unlock or more expensive, or easier to unlock and cheaper etc.

A bit complicated, really. I just as rather have every car made by Nissan under one Nissan dealer, regardless, of where they are available, rather than hunting down a car because it's available in Japan and the US, but not in Europe. I want my cars to be easy to find.

So, basically like a little note about the car's origin in parentheses?(like the "(j)" on certain car versions in GT4)

Exactly. Then, you can still find the region-specific models you want for a certain company, but not have to look through different regions. I live in America, so I don't know what exactly is inclusive/exclusively European, I don't want to spend 20 minutes searching for a cool car I know little about, but that I still want to drive, just because I do not know where it's available.

Agreeing with 3wd on this. I'm annoyed by the fact "Infiniti," "Lexus," and "Scion" are in the American area in GT4. At least they put Acura where it belongs.

Infiniti, Lexus, and Scion were created specifically for the U.S. market and weren't available in Japan until recently. That is also the case with Acura. It is correct for the three aforemantioned companies to be placed in the U.S., and Acura should also be there, as it was in GT3.

Why would you want to add more versions of the same car? How many different Skylines were there in GT4?
