Sometimes, when I get up early in the morning on the weekends 'cause the little one doesn't want to sleep anymore, I quite like to make myself a coffee, and sit down on the lounge to watch some remote races while slowly waking up. What I do mostly in races is select the driver of mine who's furthest back on the grid but does have a car one could win with and watch him progress through the field, as I did this morning. Had one of my drivers start dead last, and watched him taking spot after spot. On lap 5, two of my drivers were way ahead of the field, but that driver of mine had made his way to 4th, and he was closing in on one of the drivers from someone in my friends list (it's just so much better if he's closing in on drivers which aren't yours). Finally, on that last bit of straight just before the last two chicanes, he was sitting right behind him, waiting for the breaking zone, and then the attack, moving out to the left to overtake on the second last chicane, "YES!!! He's got him!!", I thought to myself, getting a little bit of excitement looking forward to my 1 to 3 finish, and then bang, the screen went all dark. WTF? What just happened? I actually wanted to see this! So I won't even get to see my 3rd place finish, I'm not going to actually see the conclusion to what I've been following all this race? But surely, he did finish 3rd, right? He was right beside him (even though still registered as 4th) and had the better line. So I exited out of server standby mode as soon as I could, and went to see the race results, and what can I say? 4th. Only the first two drivers registered a time, all the other drivers didn't have a time and seemingly were placed according to the placings they held when the screen went dark. Needless to say, that was an extremely unexciting conclusion.
Did anyone else ever come across this? That the race just ends at a particular point, even though cars are still driving, and then they get no time, but simply the placing they had at the time the race was (prematurely) ended? If that's meant to be a feature, I'm so not for it.
