A Rivalry to the Nardo-V8 Vantage?

Well, not really a rivalry, but I've noticed that the Laguna Seca classics B-Spec race has an unusual similarity to the Trial Mountain (now SS5) Nardo-V8 Vantage race. In this case, 9 times out of 10 you will see one of these 2 cars win:
AC Cars 427 S/C '66
Shelby Cobra 427 '66
and both are in technical terms the same exact car. Meanwhile, you will always see this car in last.
Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (C2) '63.

A new reason to hate another race (or laugh at it, as I do).

the nismo 400R seems to be the mega loser at the daytona road course. guess which car usually wins though? yep, another skyline.....
