Ok, This is a game. . . In which you answer the previous question asked and then include a question of your own. This thread has probably been produced a few times. They are probably long lost in the archives of GTP and searching would only bring up a few hundred or so threads, which is possible not even to into something like this. . .

Here goes, What year was the first Countach poduced?

Fellow named Alec Issigonis (actually, it's Sir - he was knighted) - in an ironic twist, Bernd Pischetsrieder, former head of BMW (producers of the new Mini) was a first cousin of Sir Alex.

Now vat_man will have to answer my question too and post another :D

Was the original GT40 a NA V8 or supercharged?

Okay, mmm....

An easy one - the European vehicle known as the Zafira (an Astra based people mover), is available around the world in five different brands. What are the brands?

I need to go to bed, so here's the answer.

In the early to mid 1980s, Alfa, desperate for a small front drive car, hooked up with Nissan to produce the Alfa Romeo Arna.

It ran a Nissan Cherry (think Pulsar, Sunny) three door hatchback body, with Alfa 1.2 and 1.5 boxer four motors.

It had neither the handling of Alfa, nor the quality of Nissan. It lasted two years.

Next question - what is a Mazda Roadpacer?

my guesses

mazkid knows

it lays concrete/asphalt

it paints road lines.

amc's cousin

a hauling truck

an econo car with stuff to make it sporty

a pocket rocket

Introduced in 1975 in japan, it had a remarkable resemblance to chevs of the time - only this car used a Wankel rotary. i assume it had the early rotary problems too.

::Raises hand:: Ooo! Ooo! Pick me!

A. The Merecedes-Benz 500E.

EDIT: the originals were based on the 300E, but later models were based on the 500.

close.....actually the 560SEC coupe. 180mph in an auto? Crazy stuff.....now where is your question?

Close enough :D

My question is in two parts. The first part is : everyone who knows about the McLaren F1 knows it is power by a 6.1 liter BMW Motorsport designed 48 valve V12. What is the name of the man responsible for design and development of this engine?

Part two: before BMW was approached, another manufactuer was offered the job of powering the Big Mac, but declined. Who was it?

///M-Spec

The Engine in the McLaren F1 was designed by Paul Rosche, who was a long-term friend of F1 designer Gordon Murray, from back in the Brabham-BMW days.

The manufacturer who refused the commission was Honda, then currently supplying engines to the McLaren F1 team.

Let me know if you agree with my answer, and I'll fire out a question.

My question, Who designed the original old skool Mini?
Actually, the first prototype year was in 1971 where at Geneva they introduced the LP500 or Longitudinale Posteriore 5000 cc.

The Countach was being manufactured in such a small dose. The LP400 actually was the car for many years that was deemed the manufactured model. It had a 4 liter in it.

this green example was later also used for the first official factory brochure offering the Lamborghini Countach LP400 as a production model

So with the first question not being properly answered and Giles not being around currently, I guess I'll throw out the next question.

What was the CERV III??? Who Designed it? Why was it Scrapped?

Sorry to go off-topic sorta...the RoadPacer was actually a Holden badged as a Mazda and had a rotary. It's really ownly a Mazda due to the rotary, and the name. It's barely Japanese...

Continue on...and I don't know Miata's question.

it was a vette concept. thats all i know.

wait i found more:
"The CERV III made it's debut at the Detroit International Auto Show. The car's mid-engine V8 is a 5.7 liter 32 valve, dual overhead cam LT5 Engine with the addition of twin turbos and internal modifications. Speed 225 MPH , horsepower is rated at 650."
