A thouhgt i had....

heys guys. ive been thinkin a little...heres what i thought up for a nice project/daliy driver. i want take a 92-93 integra LS/GS (the non-v-tec ones ) and make it an all motor high 15 sec (1/4 mile) car by putting a full exhust from the (header and all) with a type r muffler or one like to keep back pressure, a cold air intake, cam gears, and maybe an igntion system. i want it to handle VERRRRRRY well. almost prefect. i was thinkin some kyb shocks/struts, 350lbs springs in front and 400lbs in the rear, striffer front sawy bar, 15'' wheels with somewhat sticky tires, and a front strut tower. what do ya think?

this is just an idea i don't plan on doing this at all:D

Oh boy...

high 15s with an exhaust, a CAI, cam gears and ignition? You can get these things in high 15s bone stock...

i want it to handle VERRRRRRY well. almost prefect.

Then sell it and buy a Miata, or an S14 240SX. Or a 94-2001 Integra. It'll already be better.

Oh, and by the way...

i thought they were mid to high 16 sec cars bone stock. the gs-r's run low 16's stock and you must not be aware of the price diff between a miata or 94+ integra and a 92-93 integra

The only acceleration spec i've been able to find for a GS-R is a 0-60 mph time, which is 7.5 seconds. Which, i'd assume, gets it into the high 15 range, considering the 2nd gen GS-R did mid 15s out of the box, and i've found 0-60 times of 7.3-7.4 for it.

Of course not, i'm a dumbass...

I was pointing out to you it's impossible to have "perfect" handling with a FWD car...

where'd you see that:confused: all the times ive seen have gs-r's running low 16's. the v-tec prelude runs mid 15's. my dad has an old car and driver with a test on a 92-93 integra and it run a low 16 sec 1/4 mile.

you have no worries then:lol: i work at pizza hut so money is hard to come by so ill be in the "beast" for a while longer:P

You are gonna do all that just to run 16s? My brother's MX-6 runs high 13s/low 14s, it's totally stock looking, and the only after market mods are K&N filters, a chip, and an ignition deal. The rest was just him playing around with the turbo boost and stuff. It probably cost him like $300 for that stuff. And it's fully driveable, he's driven it down to K.C MO before. Rides great, not stiff, not low(for the suspension I think he's using 93-97 Probe GT shocks and stuff...not totally sure), and when someone wants to race at a light, or my bro just wants to have fun, it's very fast. He has the Mazda digital dash from Canada(there were only 200 in the US over the 4 years of the car, so finding one here is impossible, but they made a lot in Canada), and you can almost get it skipping MPH by 10. Though, there is a lot of wheel spin, it's got a ton of torque.

But hey, if you want to look dumb dumping money into a Honder, that's your own thing...I guess...

"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone"...

What is this obsession with 1/4 miles? Do you not, at any point, wish to go fast around a corner? Or accelerate whilst moving?

To me a car's 0-60mph time is interesting, it's top speed only vaguely so (like you can use 130mph in the UK without being slammed up in the Scrubs for a decade), but the 30-50mph, 50-70mph and 70-0mph times are paramount. These are the figures that reflect day-to-day driving most accurately.

Of course if it's just a drag car you're after, you'd be best served NOT using an FF of any variety...

Right. It must run like ****, and must need constant tuning. Because that's the kind of mods that require such thing. My CRX runs 12s, and it too is totally stock looking. And i bet i didn't waste as much money as your brother.

Well, hey, it's your own thing because you look dumb with your Massda... i guess.

Live and let live. Maybe he wants a Honda, not a Mazda. Why bother?

i wanted a 2nd integra because i don't think ive ever seen a fast one. i thought a the car car would run mid to high 16's stock so getting it to run 15's is realistic and pretty fast for a daliy driven, n/a car. besides handling is what i reeeally want it to well but i don't want it to be too slow. so 15's and GREAT handling would be fast enough for me:D
