A working 2 billion MPH video

It's really not that hard to do yourself, do you already know how it's done?
To answer your question, I don't think there are any actual videos of reaching top speed. I think there are still some working videos of breaking out of Seattle and Monaco linked in the related 50-page thread, but they might be down by now.

(BTW, don't set your font colour to white, it's very hard to read on this backround)

Thanks man. Now its blue. Ill keep tryin this out but cant seem to find a video. Im 70% done GT4 and just started GT3. I heard (somehow) its better. Its still a slow start to the game. If anyone can, please do so. THX

Do a search on wheelie settings. Get a maxed out Escudo and go to Seattle 2.
To break out of the track you need to be going in the normal direction, but instead of turning left to go under the freeway you turn right into the small gap between the tire barrier and armco.
Go from one end of the front stretch and go flat out into that little gap. Eventually after a few tries or many many tries you will break out of the track. Now all you have to do is point yourself in a direction away from the track and accelerate off into the distance. You'll hit 2 billion mph and the ps2 will freeze up. Honestly theres nothing special about doing or seeing it. Its kinda like a sideshow novelty act at a circus.

But my only problem is that I have been playing GT4 too much, im only 7% through GT3. Moneymaking tips? And OT, but is there a sort of "WUL" system like IGN has? Im a regular on the GT board there.

Heres a picture of what the speedo looks like. Check out the miles and mph!!! :scared: I did this with the Escudo and I slammed thru the wall at Seattle II.

The needle was still "there" but once it reaches that speed, it will freeze and the tach is just a blur. At this stage it sounds like the car is hitting and object every other second.

1. Clear Arcade Mode (including Time Trial races)
2. Get all licenses.
3. Win all enduros.
4. Use prizecars to clear beginner mode, then those to clear intermediate. You should have a ton of cash by this point.
5. Win* the Toyota GT-One (TS020) from the Polyphony Digital Cup, the Dream Car Championship, or the Gran Turismo All-Stars series.
6. Buy all the parts you can get for the beast, and change its oil for those extra few ponies under the "hood."
7. Use the tranny trick, set Ride Height to as low as it will go, spring rate as high as it will go, shock bound and rebound as high as they will go, maximize rear downforce and minimize front downforce, and set the LSD to 5s all around. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE.
8. Take your newly formed wheelieing machine to the Test Track to try it out. Floor it and don't worry about steering.
9. If you've seen the trick but still want more, take your car down to Seattle.
10. In the straight the race starts on, floor the throttle towards either of the outside corners. If done correctly, your car will either shoot through the wall, or halfway, where you can "wiggle" the car out (if at first you don't succeed, try and try again).
11. Floor it. The game will freeze at some absurdly high velocity that's some 160 times the speed of light (the physics engine finally realizes that's impossible so it just stops everything).

*you may have to use the reset method to get the car you want: First, race the race to the ninth race, making sure you have enough points to win without completing the tenth race (unless you want to do it again and again). Skip the tenth race and go straight to the prizecars. If you don't get the TS020, reset and let the game load itself. Skip the last race again, and repeat the process until you get the car you want.

Ok, It's slightly amusing, but of no practical importance. It's a glitch FFS!
It's much more interesting to find the top speed at the test course, trimming the power, suspention, downforce and the rest of the bollocks!

EDIT: I can see it. Thats F'ing weird! All help so far is greatly appreciated. And how would I complete all enduros after beating the liscense tests? Confusing to me

Golding the licence tests will get you, among others, a Miata LS and a Viper GTS-R(c). You can use the Miata to win the roadster enduro and the Viper to win the Trial Mountain enduro. This should get you at least one F1 car, which can very easily win a whole lot of races.
I assume that was the strategy he was reffering to.

Hmmm, that speed. look a lot like the maximum long integer. Seems like the ps2 (or gt3) can't count any further than that. lol

I am going to have to agree with emohawk on this one.. I dont think that there are any videos on the correct way to break out, and you can do it without it. I tried earlier today and found it difficult to break out with the escudo ppv. What I done was get in my f1 and try it with that, and it seems to be a lot easier to do it with that... however, I dont think that the f1 cars can do wheelies. So after I figured out where I was supposed to hit the wall, I finally did it... but its not that great, so dont lose too much sleep over it. but I know that you are very curious and want to see this trick on your own tv, so I will help you the same way I was helped. Here are the "wheelie" settings for the Escudo:

*piece of advise: save your settings before you change all of them*

Spring rate: All down
Ride Height: All down
Camber: All down
Shock Bound and Rebound: Level 1 for front and rear
Stabalizers: Level 1 front and rear
Initial torque 5/5
Acceleration 5/5
Deceleration 5/5
Gear Settings:
1st 2.895
2nd 1.902
3rd 1.240
4th .830
5th .655
6th .425
Final 3.280
Down Force Front 0.38 Rear 1.08
Active Stability Managment 0
TCS 0
This is how to get the low gear ratios that are listed.
First set your final ratio to 2.000
Then change the auto setting to level 24
now change the final to 4.999
and finaly set the auto setting to level 48

(BTW... I also performed this trick with stage 4 turbo equipped) After the settings are in place, go to seattle circuit 1 or 2 (go to amateur league, then go to american championship), doesnt really matter, and then after you've entered the race, let the competition take off, as to not bother you! on the main straight (the one with the finish line on it)there are two 90 degree turns, one WITH cones and one WITHOUT cones... you are going to want to drive down to the turn with the cones and turn completely around... drive towards the other 90 degree turn and gain speed... 180 mph should do the trick. as you get down there, there will be wall of tires directly in front of you, the track going off to the left, and a guard rail off to the right. the objective in this glitch is to hit the guard rail and tire barrier at the same time... to do this you will have to hit it at an angle, and it will take some practice. Make sure that this is the guard rail on the right, not the left!

As for the easy money question: there is only one way to get free money, and that is with a gameshark... however, there are easIER ways to get money than racing super speedway a hundred times in beginner. What I did was win small races and then sell the prize cars until I had enough to buy the mustang svt cobra, then I raced the super speedway race in the stars and stripes race over and over again, until I had enough money to buy all the mods for the mustang. then I raced the 150 mile super speedway endurance race with it, and won a corvette c5r the first time, then I raced it again and won the F090/S... which will demolish anything that isnt formula1 everything after that was pretty simple, just time consuming.

I hope that helped you and didnt confuse you! if you have any questions, just ask! :)

Indeed. Nicely spotted 👍

The speed must be stored as a 32-bit 2's complement integer.

2^31-1 = 2147483647

edit: although, of course, adding one to the maximum value you can store in that 32 bit 2C integer shouldn't itself cause the game to freeze. Adding one would just cause the value to wrap around to the minimum value (in this case, -2147483648). The game might have a check to ensure the speed is always a non-negative value though, which could cause a crash I suppose.

Anyway, that's how you can crash a space shuttle or get negative money for being successful in some games.

Why are people saying that the PS2 will freeze if you hit 2 billion mph? It doesn't, honestly. I was able to pause or unpause. Pressing circle or square will freeze it, though.

That sounds fairly unstable to me...

2 Billion miles an hour? Pah thats nothing, the young rudeboys in maidstone (near where i live) with there super Vauxhall Nova 1.3 SRs can beat that! According to them Adding huge wings and bodykits let alone about half a ton of stero ewuiptment make you go super fast!
