I'm wondering if any fellow GTPers can help me out here? I'm looking to sell some of my photos as prints, I have the files ready and the ones I've chosen don't contain copyrighted material or people who's permission I haven't gained. But what I need to know is; where exactly is a good place to sell them from? I'm thinking an online store of some sort would be best but how do you even go about setting one up? Are there huge costs involved in a simple prints sales page? Ideally it would be similar to DeviantArt but based in the UK.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. 👍

I personally use Redbubble too, I'm not sure where they are based but it's a good service and they produce very high quality prints. It's pretty easy to setup as well, IIRC they guide you through using the site anyway.

Redbubble is an Aussie site. I would also recommend photoshelter. One thing to remember about these sites are that you probably won't sell any shots by just having shots up. It only works if you do heavy marketing yourself off site. If I remember right, photoshelter actually allows digital download sales as well which increases your sales opportunities.

Deviantart is also an option. If you are still doing shots like what you showed me a few months ago, they have a pretty extensive community that does that kind of photography as well however you'll probably find a lot of immature kids on Dev as well.

I'm aiming to tie in the 'store' with my new website, business cards and prints appearing in a shop in the heart of Warwick, as well as my shots appearing in the biggest local paper for Birmingham, so there's plenty of promotion happening. I've tried DeviantArt but nobody has even commented on 99% of my work. It's a shocking place nowadays, the only way you will get any attention is by submitting something Japanese related or using nude goth models. I try to stay away from there as much as possible now!
