Stupid question alert:

Is there an ABS option I haven't found/been able to switch off in this game? I have yet to be able to lock the brakes on any non-race car even with the balance set to extremes, and it's getting on my nerves :yuck: Of course, I keep all the 'driving aids' turned off at all times.

I can set up my brakes at 1/20, and still my cars will understeer while decelerating smoothly even though I slam the brakes 100%. No smoke, no skid, no loss of grip, nothing.

I've noticed that I'll get a slightly different tire sound and a loss of control from the brakes on genuine race cars (generally speaking with 100% braking at settings above 7), but I just can't make it happen on tuned standard cars... Sort of annoying since it makes my drifting options pretty limited...

Well, there's always the ebrake, but as far as regular brakes go in GT4, all cars in the game feature ABS, except for the Model T of course. One time when I was doing a top speed test in my Model T, I was goin' around 430 KPH, and I accidently let my foot slip of the pedal, and I put my foot on the brake instead, sheesh, I must've rolled over like 100 times.

Anyways, no there is (as far as I know) way to lock up the brakes in GT4 without the E-Brake. Back in GT3 you could tap the ebrake then hold on the regular brakes while still maintaining a skid, but thats all.

And also, unless you are thinking of using this for brake entry drifting, this thread has no relevance to the GT4 Drifting Forum.
