can anyone tell me the difference ABS make to wheel users,
I’m not seeing much here.

Less understeer when cornering i think. But if you are a decent driver that always brakes on time its not a real diffrence.
One of the challenges actually prompts you to trail brake by leaning on the ABS. Feels all kinds of wrong to me and I could match the time without doing this. I guess it depends on the car but I'm not aware of this being common practise in motorsport. Am I wrong? It could help reduce understeer if you trail brake, and you're not reducing brake pressure sufficiently.

Trail braking with lots of ABS activation though? I'd always trail brake myself but not by letting the ABS essentially do it for me. I guess if the ABS is good it could trail brake better than a human foot.Yes, trail braking is essential in some cars.
For example... You won't get a 911 round a circuit with any decent pace without trail braking. WTCC cars are the same.
It's an essential technique to shorten braking distances, reduce entry understeer and control weight transfer.
