SO recently ive been doing a workout regime of running for 30 mins, i run & jog for about 3-4 laps around a big track (1mile), then walk 1 lap than jog/run the last 3-4 laps home. as of today, i havent ran since last monday 9/26/05.

im starting to give up ONCE again, i my cholesterol was high back in march, then i decided to excersize and actually lost weight. (went down to 158-160)
yes im not that big a guy 5'9.
then i had a period where i would start eating and never work out, so now im back to 165 and feeling fat and still craving to eat. i want to get down to 155lbs. then start lifting weights.

is there a way to reduce my cravings/get back into shape?
i mean i want a nice body, but im starting to give up once again, and i always want to eat.

any help is appreciated 👍

There are pills and supplements you can take to rid of cravings or even substiute food.
165LBS at 5"9 isnt too bad. Id reccomend you join a gym in which you lift weights and go on treadmills and steppers aswell.

Also if you want i could tell you about H.I.T

High intensive training which is basically two 15 min sessions of cardio excersice which is meant to be one of the best forms of losing weight.

This is more on the subject of not giving up or getting bored with getting into shape:

1.) Having a partner to exercise with is a big plus. Being accountable to each other is a huge motivation to actually doing the work. If my partner(s) can't be there and I have to workout alone, it's all I can do to bring myself to exercise.

2.) The other thing that helps me is to chart your progress. If you can see improvements in your routines (number of reps, amount of weight, etc...) it will help to motivate you to continue your training.

3.) And check to see what other people are doing to get results (like what your doing right now).

The best way to loose weight, is to gain muscles.

I highly recommend you to go to the gym, do a cardio workout of 30 min, it can be on a stationnary bike or whatever you like and then, immediately after that, you do a weight training.

Not only will you loose fat, you will also gain muscles!

To control the craving, I would watch your eating habbits. I don't think you have this problem, because you aren't fat, but some people keeps stuffing themselves until full. By doing this, you are actually stretching out your stomach. Soon, now that your stomach is larger, you have to eat more to feel full, and keeps going on and on. If you actually stop eating around 90%, or right before you're full, I think it would help. Of course, you still need to exercise. It's mandatory. :D Good luck, man!

P.S. I'm 5'10" 153 lbs. I've gained a few, this fall. During the summer, I was playing basketball non-stop, weighed about 146 lbs.

im 72Kg, 6ft2. Started going gym a while back, not as much to loose weight but to get more muscles. I do 15mins on treadmill/bike then weights for as long as i can. How often do you guys workout though? every day?

I'm on a Mon Wed Fri with a 45min session in the moring, and a 45min session in the afternoon.

Just go for a 10 week hike through the Tasmanian wilderness. Any excess weight you don't want around will be gone. You may be dead, but you'll die thin.

An easier way would be to just not eat as much and just run around a lot. The rest is mental strength to keep it up. No extra instructions is gonna help you with your mental strength to keep excercising, it'll just have to come from within. If you're reading this on the net, its probably not a good way to start. Turn off the computer and go for a run!

Personally, I'm really skinny and eat loads of crap, so I'm not gonna be the most understanding shoulder to lean on.
I suppose I do run around a lot, but thats more a personality going crazy sort of thing than excercising on purpose!

3 times a week split into muscle groups for optimium muscle growth. I dont bother with treadmills and bikes unless im looking to lose some bodyfat.

Exactly, and for muscles to become really visible you need to do the cardio as well. Just look at sumo wrestlers, they're very athletic.... underneath their fat suit.

that is the EXACT problem i have, im not satisfied until im full, even my brother says i dont have to be full whenever i eat.

thanks for the responses, i know it helps out big time if i had a partner to work with, i just need motivation , plus i think the physique i want is close to impossible without the help from a personal trainer or joining a triathalon club or something...

my goal is to be ripped, 8 pack abs, good sized chest (peks), good sized bi/triceps, and everything else proportional. :nervous:

Yeah, I think you should feel just right, not full, after you eat. Personally, I go just right/full to a full. :D

On having a partner or trainer for workouts; few of my buddies belong to gyms(I haven't been to a gym in years, but I'm in better shape than any of them!). Most of them work out with partners and/or trainers. But one that made the most progress worked out by himself and sometimes just with his then girlfriend(now fiance!). I think it's your personal determination that's going to be most important. Good luck! :)

Water. When you feel hungry drink water. That's why I do, but I still admit to snacking quite abit (Custard creams ).

Water will fill you up and keep you running back and for to the toilet

SVT if you love to eat your perfect for bodybuilding /strong man training as long as you dont eat a load of junk food.

Train hard 3 times a week and eat well do some cardio and bodyfat should drop and muscle pack on. A supplement called creatine will also help increse muscle growth/strentght and stamina whilst helping to cut fat.

There are a lot of good articles about creatine here.

Upon reading some of the articles in that search, creatine is not a protein supplement nor is it a steroid.

In short, it helps provide strength for harder workouts, and it also promotes the rebuilding of the muscle. In essence, it helps the proteins in the body along.
