There are some :censored:s in the world.

Villagers identified the girl as Xiao Li and cops quickly arrested her father. As well as having her mouth sewn up with fishing wire, Xiao Li suffered 'scalp burns, needle jabs and extreme malnutrition'.

The girl had been forced to kneel on a floor covered with broken glass and she had been hung upside down and beaten with ropes and sticks.

Tang Tian, the local hospital director, told the newspaper that the young girl was malnourished and weighed half what girls her age should.

Stories like this make me absolutely livid. She's eleven. Eleven. Cultural differences or not, what could drive anyone to treat someone like this, much less a child?

It's a truly horrible story. With such a massive population and such a poor human rights record you have to wonder how many other severe cases go unreported.

I don't know what kind of psychological damage that must cause to an 11 year old but I expect she'll never really recover from such brutality.
