I am putting this here as this is where the best of the best seem to be hanging out right now. The purpose of this thread is to find an elite driver that has time and would want to take me under their wing, so to speak, and help me take my skills to the next level. I am looking for a person to spend track time with so they can directly access my abilities and faults and tutor me on track. I'm not looking for just simple advice. I want track time with whoever as I feel that will help me the most, along with the advice. I am very serious about this and am willing to compensate the person in anyway I can for their time and knowledge. And yes, I know about the GTPlanet Driving School here in these forums and no offense to those guys but I want to learn from the best and most experienced people. I know who you are so if any of you are willing to be my mentor and help me succeed in catching my dream, I would greatly appreciate it. Look forward to hearing from someone. Thanks for taking the time to read this. Peace.

You know, the best thing you can do is to post something like this on your region's SCCA and NASA forums. I bet you'll find people who are willing to help you.

He's talking about in-game Jav, not in real life.

I think it'd be much better for you to join a dedicated group of road racers that are friendly and at a moderately high level. Just look for series or clubs in the Online Racing section.

Pure always has something fun going on or right around the corner, so there's one. Then there's ORCA, GTRRL. But try and focus on spec racing, then you'll see where you're lacking a lot faster and it'll be a lot easier for people to pick apart your driving.

Yea, I was talking about in-game, not real life. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I appreciate your advice Wardez and while it is good advice, its simply not what I'm looking for. Been down that route before and while I did learn some things, learning in a group setting has its limits. I'm really just looking for one person to learn from, like a one on one setting. Like a personal trainer if you will. I feel like this is the best way for me. If this is too much to ask of anyone, I apologize. I realize all of you are probably too busy to help out and don't have time for such a thing, but just thought I'd try and see if I could get someone anyway. Sorry to be a bother. Thanks again Wardez for responding. Appreciate your time. Peace.

If I wasn't going on a trip between now and silverstone, I would have totally spent some time trying to help you improve. i enjoy helping my fellow competitiors as much as I can, because it always leads to better racing. However, I know I will not have time or a ps3 to try to help you, but I'm sure someone will be willing to give you some personal pointers. I have done so in the past, and it was a lot of fun. Just be patient KB, someone will be willing to reach out a helping hand.

Thanks for the kind words my friend. And yea, I'm not trying to put pressure on people to help me and sorry if its coming off as such. I just figured I'd put this out there and see if someone has time to help. Until then, I'll just keep practicing on my own. Enjoy your trip and be safe. Peace.

I am right there with you. I would love to find someone to do this. For me it is not about making it the GTA simply trying to get better. I am planning on joining a league but would love some one on one.

I'd try to help but not sure on my schedule, and lately I'm better at giving advice for online racing and tire saving, not so much on outright speed...

Shoot, I will do it, but it will cost you :) JK, I do have may blue prints for the Academy, but his does sound like a interesting strategy to success.

If ever I'm racing, you can always ask me about a situation or given turn and I'd be happy to help out! I know I will be practicing quite alot once we move to get that extra performance and knowledge of the tracks for next years event. I'll let you know of any days if you'd like as me and ghostdriver plan to push ourselves to the next level!

@ Tidney & R1600Turbo: It would be an honor to learn from you guys. You guys are exacty the types of people I wish to learn from. You guys have experience, skill, knowledge, and are great people in general. I feel that tutored track time with you guys would be the best way for me to get to the next level. Very kind and thoughtful of you guys to offer your time and knowledge like this. Let me know when/if you have time for this. Thanks guys for your responses. Peace.

I understand where you're coming from KB, but to be perfectly blunt, a one on one trainer is not going to instantly make you an Academy competitor. You can get all the advice in the world, but it's still up to you to execute, remain focused, and stay consistent. If you can do those things already, then you probably don't need a trainer anyway, you just need practice at improving your lines/shift points.

Do you think people in the top 32 had 1on1 training? Probably not... They just practiced, practiced, practiced, and then practiced some more. The faster the players you practice with, the faster you become.

I got fast in sim racing by surrounding myself with speed. It's not like I came out of the gate and ran with the fastest, but I just found people faster than me and raced with them all the time. Eventually I started leading the pack a good bit of the time and started racing with my current club (TimeRacingClub) until they talked me into joining. That's when I really started getting fast as I was maybe the slowest in the club back then, but being constantly surrounded by some of the best + lots of lapping pays off.

👍 You hit the nail right on the head. When i bought my first online racing sim i thought i was all that until i ventured online and got smoked. So much to the point i traded the game in out of disgust. A few months later i wanted another go at it. Long story short i did what scooty suggested and surrounded myself with much faster guys and watched what they were doing until eventually i was right there with them or faster. It all really boils down to practice and dedication. Your not gonna turn fast overnight regardless of how you go about it. I would suggest like Wardez said join a spec league. I would recommened S.N.A.I.L. I just joined to help me learn the tracks for next years academy and a few other finalists also joined. Its a good group to run with and very organized, there are also very fast guys in there that are very friendly.

Not sure when you became an authority on what will work best for me as I am the only one who truely knows what works for me. I also don't recall saying that it would make me an instant Academy winner. I said the next level, nothing about being an instant super star. If you don't want to help thats fine, but don't tell me what will and won't work for me.

After reading the few above posts, I'm just going to close this thread. It has become apparent to me tha few of you think you know whats best for me and how I learn. You also seem to want to put words in my mouth and make it look like its something its not. Never said it would make me an overnight sensation. Never said I thought I was all that. I did get a few people willing to help and I appreciate it. As far as you other guys that think you know whats best for me or want to say things I never said, I guess thats what happens when elitism clouds your way of thinking. You all are great drivers and I admire your talents but it seems as tho a few of you have forgotten where you came from. I say this not because you won't help me the way I want, but because of your responses thinking you know whats best for me. Just remember one thing. That little white speck on top of chicken crap, well, thats chicken crap also.
