I noticed you can accelerate/brake with your right analog stick. This never occured to me in Prologue, so is this new? I'm finding it very comfortable to play like this by the way.

This has been in every GT since the analog pads were released on the Playstation 1, GT2 I believe was the first to use it.

Definitely best way to play on a pad

GT1 was the first.
You could change the button layout for yourself in every GT so far too, which is awesome.

I played that way for years, but have switched to the L2/R2 for brake/gas. I prefer it that way now. Seems to work ok for me. :)

Switch your gear shifting to X = Up shift, and [] = down shift. 👍

Yuk, why dont we play forza or project gotham while we're at it. LOL. = P

JK. I'd rock that scheme too, but like mentioned in the first post, once my friend showed me the right stick for throttle on GT2, there was no turnin back.

It all depends on personal preference really. Your way works for you, and my way works for me. Doesn't mean either way is wrong. Do what works for you. 👍

I use the x button for throttle. It worked up to GT4. Now I really do struggle... But as mentioned in other threads, it recently came to my attention that its the game code not the controller thats wrong on GT5P and the GTacademy demo. If its not sorted by GT5, I might just have to get myself a wheel.

I could try using the right stick, but it would take practice. It essentially means I would be right foot braking when I have no clutch, which seems a little wrong. I might buy those trigger grip things and use those instead :)

If you use the right analogue stick surely you going to have more trouble balancing power/brake, i know with L2/R2 it's not uncommon to be on the gas before you've finished letting off the brake.

Maybe i'll try the stick just for curiosity. On a further note, i currently chang gears with circle[up]/triangle[down]. X is handbrake.

I kinda' liken this to rubbing your tummy and patting your head - I can steer with the left stick just fine, but accelerating and braking with the right at the same time...hehe! Unfortunately, as much of a pad user I am, a have to concede that really, if this is how the game is going to be, a wheel is really the only way to go to get smooth through the corners and steady on the power. Sure, it can be done with a pad with practice, and wheel isn't going to make everybody faster overnight...
