Accepted BoP Cars/Track Combinations

Hi there i’m pretty new to the racing scene and was wondering if there was a list anywhere showing which cars are the accepted best car for a certain track?

I can’t seem to find one anywhere.

Specifically with BoP turned on for sport mode races.

Cheers in advance!

Without going into too much detail:

Gr3 - Porsche
Gr4 - Porsche
N500 - Porsche

Of course, it isn’t that simple, but the above appears to work for most, with the current trend of tyre wear x 15. Even without tyre wear, the Gr3 is very competitive, to put it mildly, plus it recently got another power increase....

Sorry, I forgot to add:

Gr1 - Porsche

Most of its rivals (Audi) were recently nerfed multiple times.

I am only being semi serious and selfishly making a point that I wanted to, but there is a lot of truth in it. Porsche OP lol.

There are a few metas like Alfa Gr4 at brands, but the real answer is different for each person, for example many who struggle in the Porsche Gr3 will go well in the wrx.

The best way to achieve a list of car and track metas, would be to analyse the top 10 leaderboards for each event.

Ah right! Is that because the WRX is more stable whereas the 911 is a bit tail happy by comparison?

I find the top tens are generally just 911s

Well I agree with those starements; but it’s pretty evident that a lot of cars rarely get used. I haven’t withessed a single McLaren driver so far.

And as for “OMG I JUST WANT IT EASY”

Lol i’m new and just learning about the game. Every game has a meta. Don’t ignore that fact because you have notions #GetReal :)

The initial reply of Porsche Porsche Porsche was somewhat exaggerated though is grounded in truth until the next BoP change comes for their souls. But here's an analysis that's had a bit more effort put into it;

Group 1: All three LMP1 cars have their strengths and weaknesses. The Audi for example is the fastest car at Le Mans right now. The Toyota looked very strong at Fuji when Akagi was holding Saika off in the Asia-Oceania final. Outside of LMP1, the Tomahawk went from fringe pick to high-tier thanks to a recent buff.

Group 3: The Beetle has been pretty good in the meta since it's weight reduction. The Aston Martin is a nice all-round car that's unlikely to be nerfed. The Mitsubishi or Subaru is worth a shout if you prefer the handling of an FR car but want the strengths of the 911. And on power tracks the Ford Mustang is a fast and safe pick.

Group 4: Toyota 86 or Alfa 4C on handling tracks. If tyre wear is off, balanced tracks favour the Audi TT. Power tracks play into the Veyron's hands, though a nerf has limited it's scope.

N500: Okay yeah, that one is a '16 Porsche 911 hegemony...

Thank you so much for your answer! This has been exactly what I was looking for; I’ve just bought a g29 and am looking to really get good with a single car for each particular group with it as I get better.

When you say power track and balenced track which ones are you referring to?

Cheers again

Yes there's a good reason for that one, both Gr3 and Gr4 are not fast, great to drive but too slow to win in. There's a few other bad choices too but the rest are even enough to stand a chance at beating whatever is the current "META" by driving consistently.

Handling track: lots of corners and either a low average speed or no long straights. Examples include Brands Hatch and Nurburgring.

Power track: the opposite, long straights and few corners. Monza and Red Bull Ring are prime power tracks.

Balanced track: an even mix of power and handling sectors. Bathurst and Interlagos are good examples, having both long straights and very technical middle sections.

The new update to BoP made zero changes to any Porsche, even the dominant N500 or GR.3 that doesn’t wear it’s tyres out like most other cars that can compete with it on raw pace (not many).

What’s funny is I have been having the best luck with the Viper at Interlagos. Up to about 9 or 10 wins. All against Porsche’s, Aston’s and GT’s.

Well done on the 9 or 10 wins, that is impressive.

Race B Interlagos Gr.3 has no tyre wear, which is a (very) strong point of the Porsche.

Out of interest, what is your dr / sr? I ask, as the subtle differences in ultimate car performance are only critical when the laptime capability of drivers is within a close range of each other and we only see this in the higher ranks.

I am a DR:B SR:B driver. I have raced people that are one second faster on their quali lap, and vice versa.

If you really want to be a sheep, just check the Top10 for the fastest car.
But if you want to be the cool guy on track, choose whatever you like :sly:

Cheers everyone for your answers. I’m learning still; finally got a g29 so i’m basically starting again from the little experience I had but I want to get fast! And I think I will! Bottom line is; i’m gonna drive cars I like. That’ll be my rule.
