After announcing a surprise move to LMP1, work began on the first car for that class. The car would not be powered by diesel like its P1 rivals, it would utilize a reworked version of the 3.4 Liter V8 used in the LMP2 car. One notable feature this car was quickly known for was being the first LMP1 car to utilize Front tires of the exact same width as the rear. This would give the car significant grip which aided the car massively in the corners.
The addition of this car would not only give Acura another LMP race car, but would also be another test car that could benefit from the GT Auto customizations.
