I love the s2000 gt1 but there is a lot of weight in the back.
If I were to add say 50kg to my s2000gt1 or actually any car too help improve weight distribution is the extra weight added worth helping it get closer to a 50/50 weight distribution?
Yes, but on some cars you just have to add too much weight to make the weight distribution close to 50/50 (not even 50/50 itself) canceling all the weight reductions in the process. But it definitely help of the car permit it.
You only have to look at the effect it has on the Fiat 500 in the new seasonals to see how big a difference 50/50 weight distribution can have. Warren summed up the dos and don'ts quite nicely there
An interseting point is that the old HKS S15s used to have a special place in the boot for weights to sit when it was raining, so as to balance the car better and give it more traction in the wet conditions.
Adding ballast in the clio competition was a major breakthrough for the lap times. Rear ballast. And I used to rock a VERY slow S15RM with high front ballast. It could out drift (angle only) anything. Ballast is a wonderful and mysterious thing.
