so i'm +.085 from the current leader for this event , which leaves me ranked at five thousand something or other, and i'm wondering what i could do to improve. i've loaded the ghost replay of the leader, follow the same line as him, but he pulls away from me almost from the beginning. i figured out to shift at 120mph and then again at 147mph and use zero or little steering , but i've hit a performace wall at +085 seconds. any advice or tips on how to improve? i'm wondering what i'm doing wrong...i've re-tried it over and over again

The shift points are so critical that I went to the options menu and switched from mph to kph. Then I shift at 185-6 and just after it turns from 236 to 237. If you have watched the ghost you should be able to follow the right lines. I try to let the car drift up until the right tire is just above the yellow line and keep soft hands. I use the lamp post on the right just before the windmill as a reference to begin gently turning down, I don't start at it but it is the landmark I use for a reference. Then I try to keep a smooth arc that takes me tight to the guard rail and then back out, crossing the finish line at 252 kph. My best time is .008 off of the record and I am losing it right at the second shift point.

I would also suggest along with the ghost, watching the replay of the leader and note the lines he uses.

P.S.
My wife who is 70 and does not play this game ran a 53.717 just staying smooth and shifting when I told her to. She stayed just above the yellow line the whole way.

I hadn't noticed your location, Cool. We used to live on your side of the mountains, our daughter and grandchildren live in Tacoma.
My PSN is grampa1951
You should be sub 53.7 in no time.

Edit: I normally use the rooftop view but found the chase view to work best for me on this test.

One more thing! What Force feedback strength works best for this challenge?
I think it is just individual preference. I started on the default setting which I think was 5 then tried 10 and saw no difference.

Do you have traction control on?
I don't think it matters but no I have it set to 0.

That is just...awesome! I think I got somewhere around 53.7xx after a couple of retries. It really just depends on the shifting points. Still, kudos to your wife :)👍
