Hi guys! Since I got a new gaming rig a few months back, I've been starting to notice as I read all around the internet that my old 60Hz HP Pavillion 22bw might not be the best for my specs. Basically, I can't play anything above 60fps because it causes a really painful screen tear and stuttering. This forces me to play with V-Sync on all games. With V-Sync deactivated I normally achieve frame rates between 70 and 114 depending on the game.
After reading and learning a bit, I realize I do need a monitor with a refresh rate higher than 60hz. Basically equal or higher than the frame rate my PC is capable of producing. I'm shopping for 144Hz monitors, but I really don't know what the best option is. I don't need 4k or 3D. I settle for 1080p. My budget is no more than $250.
Another thing is the cable I would need to use. I've also read that HDMi is not the right choice and that for higher frames I need a DVI. I am not so sure about how this works, so I need a bit of enlightenment.
Thanks!
