hi all

new to forums and would like to get a little more fun out of racing games esp with GT5 coming out, i am thinking of getting a wheel and sturdy stand for it

1. wheel
hesitating between the Logitech G27 and Fanatec 911 Turbo S
- I am leaning towards the Fanatec if i can find one in UK (seems only avialable in US :() , i really like the looks plus it is the only one i found to be compatible with PC, Xbox and PS3. anyone have any ideas where to get one?
- also anyone know if it is compatible with "big" games (Forza, PGR3, F1, GT5, NFS Hot Pursuit)
- how good is Fanatec for support of games and customer service - comparable to logitech?

2. Stands
any good foldable stands ? i am worried they wobble a bit much? tried building one in past = headache and not very stable, I don't weld, etc :)

so looked at GameRacer Elite, Gamepod GT2 and Playseat Evo Alacantra. I like the GamracerElite as it seems to have alot of options for adjustments (wheel tilt, footpedals etc..) but is it stable?

appreciate your experience and recommendations since it's hard to make up my mind since very few reviews and no places to demo them

PS am not a good driver so don't care about shaving fractions of laps, just want something that feels fun and hopefully can find a race where i don't get shunted at every corner ;)

cheers

thx for info.

anyone have any experience with gameracer elite?
ie do gear shift and wheel suffer from wobble?
can Fanatec GT3RS v2 and clubsport pedals be mounted without modding?

cheers

where did ou order it from as im from vancouver also... how does it work with g25 wheel.. also was there any duty?

I ordered it from Fanatec about a year and a half ago. It works out of the box with G25 the mounting holes are already there. I had a G25 and shifter mounted to mine before my Turbo S arrived. You need to order the shifter adapter for the wheelstand separately and it works for both the G25 and Fanatec shifters. It weighs a ton and there was some duty so I had to pay UPS' ridiculous brokerage fee. Cost me close to $60 at the door :(
