Are there any good drift settings for the AE86 SS version?
How good is the drift setting for the AE86 in the drift settings depot? Dont super soft and soft tires give to much grip?
sorry im new

if i were to replace the super soft/soft tires with sim tires, would those settings still be good? and i still need some settings for the SS version

I use the super soft/soft wheel combo as recommended by the depo. I find them fun to drive on. Unfortuantlly, without a wheel, sims seem too hard to control with a trueno that's equiped with enough power to matter in a race.

Both trueno's don't have enough power to drift easily with super softs, if you don't like sims, try sports, or super slicks it will should make your drifts look better. But if you are drifting with sims drop the HP down to about 200-250 hp for the regular Trueno, and 250-300 hp for the SS, and that should do it. For any other tire you will need the maximum HP of those cars to get the best-looking drifts.

Humm… I don't think anyone, or at lease not many people, race the AI with sim tires, it's just too much of a disadvantage, unless you want to overpower on the straights but that’s no fun at all.

Most people use sims just for showy drifts, not to race with. Unless it a rule in an online race.

so maxing out at 350hp on a trueno would work well with superslicks and sports tires?

At 350 I would use normals, but sports or super slicks will work good enough. It might be a bit too sticky for longer drifts but you won't spin out as much. And it will work great for medium length turns as well as hairpins.

Heh, that moves onto a whole nother discussion with me, friend ^_^
I'm one of those one people who believe that drifting the right way helps more than gripping. But this isn't my thread so I won't go into it here.

Yeah lets go there. Drifting very slightly at an angle of 12-15 degrees will maximize traction, this is true race drifting, but no one really calls that drifting here. Also in a car that understeers a lot (gt40, oreca viper, skyline, most AWD cars) drifting at a more pronounced angle into to turn will allow you to hit the gas earlier and gives greater exit speed. But sim tires are slow no matter what, relatively speaking.

I used the setting's from the drift depot and found that the super soft and soft tires seemed to work pretty good. Although i have never tried using slicks or normal tires.

haha well i believe in certain conditions drifting is better and in other conditions gripping is better =p... i'd say griping is better overall though if you're lookin for speed

neowman0. You mean my AE86 gt-apex settings??
Tyres certenly makes the car grip. (Note rear tyres are harder then front ones).
But if you see the LSD, and suspension; these are for drifting.
Some people said that my drift settings need a lot of skill.
I say sim tyres in a ~300hp car need a lot of skill.
That's only the way to drift, I like my settings and if I upload it, it's because I CAN DRIFT WITH IT.
Try them and feel free to change them on your style.
Just a tip: first brake drifting, and then control the throttle.
:) ;)
