A pity, PD has shutdown the servers.

I'm in the processing on finishing the game, I was just in time to finish A spec with the 200% bonus, and I'm now leveling up B-spec, right now I'm at lv 36 and is very slow the process. I just did Le Mans 24hr, and for XP I will be doing Nurburgring 4 hrs which yields something like 682K.

I would like to collect the majority of the cars, so what would be the most effective race to do consecutive to accumulate cash in the shortest period of time?

Although its a bit repetetive, the best cr./minute is the A-spec "American Championship" event, at Indianapolis. With a fully tuned Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM '09.

And thats not my opinion, it's a well documented fact that is the best "cr. per minute" event.
The 2'nd best is the "Like The Wind" event at indianapolis, using the Red Bull.

And if you want the best XP/minute, the best event is "Dream Car Championship" at indianapolis, again using a Red Bull.

Or. you know... use GE. instant full XP and money, and all the cars you want.:)

GE is illegal (unless your using that specific account offline). But it would be nice to have an update that increases these payouts, untill then Like the Wind is the best bet or what's above.

Everyone IS using their specific account offline. there isn't any more online or the associated banning.
If you want to collect ALL cars, there's a 5200 day used car cycle, don't expect to acquire them quickly.
That's all the GE is good for now, completing collections after you have already completed the rest of GT5.
Even with the GE it takes a while to fill up your inventory, but just not years such as with the alternative.

Thanks for the tips guys

GE stands for Garage Editor, right, I just stumbled upon it, so should it work fine with the latest patch of GT5?

I downloaded 1.6 version, then supposedly after you make the changes you should press again the Encrypt button? Well I didn't, I loaded the file onto my PS3 and B spec lvl 40 was applied but not the 20K credits, so I tried again and then this error pops up when loading the samegame.
Something went wrong while decrypting. Please check and restore a .bak file

Thing is I deleted the backup directory on the folder

GE does'nt decrypt and encrypt the files, and it works fine with the latest 2.16 patch, and 2.15, probably alot more.
but just in case, backup your save if something goes wrong.

Thanks for the reply et_

I did in fact backup the savegame.
But even trying to load the backup it still wouldn't let me load it anymore :(

also now in the game when loading now a message appear saying that the servers are in maintenance, so just click OK, but it's strange that the credits were not changed after modifying the save game with GE.

I saw this video in youtube

It basically tells you to downgrade to version 2.11 I believe which is according to the author the best version to mod a lot of things in the game,

You need GE version 1.3 mate, not 1.6
No need for version gymnastics with 1.3.
Make more than one backup of your game.
Do not try to do everything, take your time.
Never delete any backup file or directory folder.
Always close the garage before closing the editor.

Just use the download link I provided, I never backed up my saves, and never had any problem whatsoever. there are alot of different garage editor programs, and alot of versions of them. They all do pretty much the same in the end, so just find one that is easy to use. the one I linked is just that.;)

edit. I saw your video, and that is for modding the cars, which is impossible in version 2.12 and later. adding stuff like XP, cars, and credits is something completely different from modding cars.

1.6 is for making hybrids, so 1.3 is what you want, it has all the cars etc.
Always back your game up to protect you from yourself, not from the GE.
If you make a very bad mistake, you can always recover to an earlier save.
Some people have no problem but some of us hit wrong buttons sometimes. :banghead:

I would just go and downgrade to 2.11 now that there isn't any online to be missing. 2.11 was before anything was patched so everything will work.

Thanks again for the replies.

the problem I stumbled upon when using GE 1.3 is that when I select savegame (original or backup) this message pops out:
"An Error Occurred"

I will downgrade to v2.11 since online is no longer available and then re save manually my save game and then try 1.3 and see if it works now.

No luck after downgrading to 2.11

Using Garage Editor 1.3.1 still pop up with An error occurred and then the window becomes unresponsive.
I downloaded a savegame from the web and the same error, it might have to do with my OS maybe? Win XP SP3 English with all .NET frameworks installed.

You aren't supposed to talk about how to hack the game. Even though the online servers for GT5 are now retired, GT5's Terms of Service still apply, as does GTPlanet's Acceptable Use Policy, both of which forbid talking about how to illegally modify game data.

About all I can say is, Google is your friend.

Cheers

OK, sorry for discussing this in a lenghty fashion.

I figured since GT5 is basically out of support and with no online availability there's no harm.

Anyhow, I finally found a way to make the software run.

Thanks guys

The word "illegal" is ambiguous, the relevant terminogy should be "Online Terms of Service."
It is the Online Terms of Service, that applies to Online Service which no longer exists.
As such there is no longer any means of discovery or enforcement or harm to anyone.
Just like GT 1-4 which also have no online play or associated Terms of Service.
Nobody cares what anyone does with their copy of GT1-GT5, not even Sony.

You might have to start a new game, but when you can make dream cars come true, who needs excess creds? GE can also give car tickets as well as cash. No more grinding. No more stalking the UCD.
Oh, did I mention the engine and turbo swaps that come with GE 1.3? Turbo Vipers are only the beginning.
