After the USGP farce, lets dream a better F1!
Even though I really enjoy 2005 season, the USGP brought us back to the farce that F1 can be! Yesterday, when I switched of TV, I was as sad and ashamed than after Austrian GP where Barrichello let Shuey pass. Can you even imagine how much money was spent during that weekend in terms of accommodation, plane tickets? I dont even speak about the money spent by genuine F1 fans that were there? Its a shame? Why? Who can we blame?
Basically Michelin (they did not calculate correctly the constraints of the banking for their high tech tires) but more certainly the FIA.
Why a car does needs to run a whole race with the same tires that already have been used before? Its a non-sense! We speak here about billions which are spent every year in R&D for what? CANCELLING a GP when a tire manufacturer does not bring the right tires? Come on! Why not running a GP,with a chicane, where Michelin drivers could score points if classified after Bridgestone ones? There would have been a show at least !
Could you please, Mr. Mosley, find out better ways to stop the speed increase instead of attacking the weakest but highly important tire factor? What we assist here is a war between Bridgestone and Michelin. The most stupid aspect of this is that no one will remember if Michelin is world Champion or not, but EVERYONE will keep in mind that farce that happened in the USA.
When I saw those enthusiast being so upset by Yesterday show, I am happy to tell I never spend one penny to watch a GP, even if I live close to Francorchamps. Dont misunderstand this, I have worked for Auto Delta in the past and enjoy so much spend time for events such as Goodwood or FIA GT Championship !
