After the USGP farce, let’s dream a better F1!

Even though I really enjoy 2005 season, the USGP brought us back to the farce that F1 can be! Yesterday, when I switched of TV, I was as sad and ashamed than after Austrian GP where Barrichello let Shuey pass. Can you even imagine how much money was spent during that weekend in terms of accommodation, plane tickets? I don’t even speak about the money spent by genuine F1 fans that were there? It’s a shame? Why? Who can we blame?

Basically Michelin (they did not calculate correctly the constraints of the banking for their high tech tires) but more certainly the FIA.

Why a car does needs to run a whole race with the same tires that already have been used before? It’s a non-sense! We speak here about billions which are spent every year in R&D for what? CANCELLING a GP when a tire manufacturer does not bring the right tires? Come on! Why not running a GP,with a chicane, where Michelin drivers could score points if classified after Bridgestone ones? There would have been a show at least !

Could you please, Mr. Mosley, find out better ways to stop the speed increase instead of attacking the weakest but highly important tire factor? What we assist here is a war between Bridgestone and Michelin. The most stupid aspect of this is that no one will remember if Michelin is world Champion or not, but EVERYONE will keep in mind that farce that happened in the USA.

When I saw those enthusiast being so upset by Yesterday show, I am happy to tell I never spend one penny to watch a GP, even if I live close to Francorchamps. Don’t misunderstand this, I have worked for Auto Delta in the past and enjoy so much spend time for events such as Goodwood or FIA GT Championship !

I am really disapointed and at the same time happy cause Ferrari got their chce to kick back into action. Althought this wasn't the best way to do so. i agree with you they should have let the fans come and see the cars like a show so at least they would be so disapointed by only a 6 man GP:lol:. Did you here Micheals sneaky insult at the other teams. he said, their was truely no competition only me and Barrichello were just playing around. or something like that. As for Monteiro hahaha he looked like a complete idiot up in the stands celebrating.

Who is to blame? Michelin's of course. There is no one else to blame for this, as for the fans, "better luck next time gangs". Even if the teams raced at slow speed the fans would still not be happy... Bridgestone has advantages blah blah blah!. It's not the end of the world so suck it up!.

Fans really ought to calm down. **** happens. And it happened this past weekend. Like Hell Patrol said, get over it.
It's not as if the fans who paid to attend the GP wasted their money. I'm sure many of them still got to watch Friday practice, Saturday practice/qualifying. Sure you missed out on the race, but you still got to see/hear the cars first hand. That isn't exactly something every F1 fan can claim. There are other GPs to come. And there's always next year if you're truly set to see the USGP.
If Indy chooses to not invite F1 back for 06. So be it. It's their loss... not F1s. F1 is big enough to recouperate from missing out on a USGP. Indy ain't no Monaco. Stop acting like it's the holy grail of races during the season.

It is very simple : Equip all cars with

bridgestone.jpg

and we are all happy again....

Better F1- No Max, No Bernie

Oh and more downforce, chuck the one tire for sat & sun, run slicks. Maybe if the cars really are getting 'too fast' give em less power or make them heavier <- those two ways are the only ways the cars will get slower AND safer. slower does not automatically mean safer, yet the Controlling power of the supposed pinnacle of motorsport cant figure that out.

They should deffinatly bring back the slicks. And I think they shouldn't bring down the downforce instead make a hp restriction

But then the cornering speeds will get higher and higher, which is where much of the danger lies.

stuff the driver with food and make them fat that will really slow them down :sly:

go all out the most amount of downforce slick tyres and every other thing that would make them faster than just lower the PS :)

And alot of drivers choking on their vomit at 100mph.

Well that would just make the cars slower, cornering beasts but alot slower. The FIA plans to increase mechanical grip in the new rules, and that will mean a decrease in downforce but will mean quicker acceleration but probably lower top speeds.

i ment to get the drivers fat.

not lower the PS to the point the it cant move but to a reasonable point 700-800

There might have been only 6 cars racing at Indy last weekend, but i've seen less interesting F1 races with full grids over the past five years or so.

People need to stop kicking Bernie - he's just the promoter, he's the ring master he doesn't make the rules.

Trouble is since all the manufacturers joined in and bought teams or large shares in teams, they've been given too much power to say what can or can't be done to the rules. It leaves the FIA in a situation where they are powerless to force changes.

The FIA need to get hold of the reins again and change what needs changing for the good of the sport - if the manufactures don't like it - tough! go do something else instead, the manufactures need F1 more than F1 needs them. F1 operated fine for many years with hardly any manufactures input, apart from engines, it can succeed without them again.

I think F1 has become too big for its boots, fans don't get value for money - a spectator can't get anywhere near the cars or drivers at a GP these days.

Apparently, computer systems are advanced enough to control the car, eliminating the need for a driver.

I wanna see Microsoft vs Sony vs Apple vs IBM e.t.c lining up on the grid.

That will eliminate driver saftey regulations!

Bugger that, Microsoft would so cheat.

That's what power they'll be at next year with the V8s...roughly.
