AI and Cizetas don't mix

Whats with the AI when it comes to driving the Cizeta? I mean, I'm in my TVR Griffith 500 with R3's, then my opponets are 3 Cizetas. It looked like the odds of winning are very slim......well that was until the race began. I never saw an AI drive so bad in both the Ricardo Tormo circuit and deep forest. They hit walls, they never properly use brakes, and they never steer enough to cover a curve. Whats up with them? There are in the S class too.

Sounds like a laugh. I must get my PSP out and have a look. Will report back!

Edit: I get differebt AI, so no dice...

The exact same thing is in GT4. I have driven the Cizeta myself on both GT4 and GTPSP, and both the braking and steering are like trying to drive a soapbox car down a steep hill, all the time. So, the AI is not to fault

The game designers never bothered to "teach" the AI how to drive the Cizeta.

GT4/PSP's AI is a waypoint-based AI... this is the only logical means of getting a large number of cars on track and still having the graphics engine and physics engine running at a good clip. It's adaptive to a point... AI will be able to adapt to differences in tire grip and power... but there is no car-specific AI programming. Not even drivetrain-specific, which is why the AI sucks at driving powerful front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive cars with lots of push.

The Cizeta is a unique challenge in that it's got so much weight in the rear that it encounters the same corner-entry understeer issues that 911s do, and it has very little grip. The only way to drive the car is to play with its balance with the brakes and pre-emptively countersteer like you would with a 911.

But since the AI only drives in the "classical" style (slow-in, fast-out, curb-apex-curb), they're obviously not going to be very good with the car.

That worries me a lot. Driving a Cizeta is like driving a car made of stones with leather seats. Oh and next time, don't double post.

Because the Ezo is a well-balanced lightweight, modern supercar with a low center of gravity and a keen balance, and the Cizeta is an old car with two big, heavy V8s slung out sideways high over the back axle on gumballs that have about as much grip as truck tires?

The AI can compensate for skittishness because they apply accelerator and steering inputs very smoothly, but they can't compensate for a car that doesn't handle at all.

 I agree the cizeta is a bad car.
