AI blunders

Well searched as usually told. This s not exactly bug reporting so I feel confident in writing this down. (Gonna kick and slap me around ? :dunce: )

I discovered several AI blunders :

A) B-Spec AI blunders :

1- In the La Sarthe straightaway, the B-Spec AI driver each and every time loses control and steers against the loeft hand barriers losing you at least 20 seconds, right after the second chicane, before the slight curve to the right. (Endurance)

2- It does the exact same in the Super Speedway but of course this time against the right hand barriers, at the exit of the wide curve. (Endurance again)

3- No matter how you slow him down to slow pace (1) he again spins out at the second right turn of the Infineon track. (Endurance yet again)

B) Opponent AI blunders :

1- The pole position holder spins out at the most unbelievable place (the undulated sequential curves) of the Suzuka and falls to last place. (Extreme Hall, any race concerning Suzuka) :grumpy:

2- The Mitsubishi FTO LM car pits every 3 laps regardless of the track it participates a race in. :dunce:

3- The Zonda race car loses it to 4th or 5th, even last, no matter each and every time it starts in the pole position. :dopey:

4- The Ford GT's are hyped to be spectacular cars in the whole game (that sense is given with even the game's cover) Did you EVER see one of them winning an actual race in AI ?? :indiff:

5- The AI driver of the Cerbera Speed 12 forgets he has a brake pedal. He whether rams you or some other hapless soul eah and every time he follows one. (She always follows anyhow, since the poor car is another loser in the hands of an AI.) :ill:

6- The AI actually gets more and more agressive the more careful and considerate you drive. i.e. you brake hard to avoid tapping anyone's bumper, steer and brake to yield way etc. But if you be agressive and start ramming an banging, they back off and be careful against you... :nervous:

Just a few... You may call me demented and way too much into the game but well, this what I see...

This stuff's pretty well documented, save for the pitting/ pole observations. That's the first I've seen that posted.

So, blunders...hmm...oh! Any family cup race including the Group C LeMans cars at the Nür. Getting close to the halfway point of the second lap, they all die. Just..the rear skins are shot. Often you can get away winning in a McLaren F1 or even a New Ford GT race car, granted that you don't have to deal with a pushy R8 or Speed 8.

Also somewhat documented here, the Formula GT series at La Sarthe, apparently they freight train into the sand periodically. I remember Famine got a good laugh out of it.

Cheers,
Jetboy

B spec screwed me on Le Sarthe one time. Coming up to the 90 degree left hand corner, he drove off into the sand and hit the wall. he then went forward a few meters, back a few meters etc etc all on the same spot - I think that was about 10 hours in....

Sure you searched good enough?

This stuff has been covered before, well at least the La Sarthe ones. But anyway, good post 👍

But I'll have to disagree with you on the statement that every car spins out at the second right turn on Infineon, 'cus mine doesn't :D

What car was it ? I tried even with the F-1 racer an it hit the rumble strip, flew high and rammed the opposite wall without even touching the grass !!

Also a few more that I remembered about how the AI mistreats so fine cars :

1- At the Laguna Seca, especially the US made muscle cars negotiate the corkscrew too fast and all of a sudden you see havoc while they all go spinning and bumping into eachother.

2- The VW Nardo is funny; it blasts away like a dream to fade away and start panting in the third to fourth lap. You can easily beat it with a Ford GT.

3- During the Grand Valley enduro, the cars start as a whole pack and proceed so for almost two full laps an there is almost no way of overtaking. All of a sudden the AI drivers seem to give up and let the accelerator go.

4- The Subaru LM car has to be a joke if not fantasy. It HAS to be the AI as no Subaru could be so crummy... I beat the ever living heck out of it with a barely tuned GT-R R34...

5- The Peugeot 205 Turbo swishes away at the Special Condition Hall King George Normal all to go ramming into the 90 degree right turn (after the circular turn) and getting stuck there, offering you a wonderful passage to overtake.

6- The Evo 7 (or 6?) tails you closeley and nails you into the corner of the spectators' lounge right after the start / finish straight before you enter the narrow street on Cİtta di Aria reverse...

Well is it me or the AI, it's for you to decide...

I never seen anyone of these things... And i've had the game the hour it was released...

But according to your profile your only lol% through.

Autumn Ring - Italy Cup, at the start if you want to overkill just to win the Alfa Romeo Race Car, use the best Pagani Zonda, you half overtake the 5th place car before the race starts, then the cra ahead (usally an Alfa) steers into you loads.

Hmm...could it be considered a blunder when (in b-spec...or even a-spec mode) on a rolling start the computer gets you into 5th or even 4th before the race officially starts because your car is so unbelievably faster then the rest of the field?

My Bob does fine on 3 setting at Infineon enduro, I usually run the r92 nissan and hard fronts, super hard rears, stock gearing and actually raise the ride height just a smidge. Also raise the ride height at Sarthe.

Same... My bobby does fine on all of them.

I used to have problems with all these tracks/corners etc for 'Bob'... but you just have to set the car up nice for him. Most of my cars have used the 3 settings available; A: My 'Smooth Road' Setup, B: My 'Bumpy Road' Setup, C: My B-Spec Setup.

B-Spec drivers only make mistakes if your car isn't ballanced on the bumps, so get your suspension and dampers right and you wont have these problems :)

I must admit. That is so gay.

Unless you can actually provide me with proof that the Ford GT and/or B-spec driver are actively practicing homosexuals (which I seriously doubt) do not use this term.

The AUP covers this quite clearly and its a term that certainly could be considered offensive and a practice that is not tolerated here at GT Planet. Do not do it again.

Thank you

in the FG series they love to mess up, quite funny to see actually, my side hurt that dya I did all 15 races after I was done
