hi its me again sorry about my last post guys but his time i would to hear ur views on the AI in GT5 what do you think it will be like? you can comment on the amount of cars in a race aswell happy posting:) đź‘Ť

honestly i want AI Just a little smarter than gt4 and the races like lemans where theyre running 22 cars(or so im told) it needs to be 22 cars

I'd like Polyphony to tune the game to perfection, so that the PS3 can calculate lifelike racing behavior individually for dozens of bots. As for the number of cars, I want the came to be able to handle the car physics and A.I. properly, and limit the number of cars so that it can handle everything without any loss of performance. I'd think that the PS3 should be able to handle 16 cars, 15 competitors, without breaking a sweat, and should be able to direct 20-24 cars properly. Maybe 10-16 open cockpit/convertible cars with visible drivers.

In Tourist Trophy, the bike rider adjusts his riding position based on the performance and state of the bike. They're coming along with their driver intelligence, and A.I. code can be licensed. It's happened in other games.

As many cars as they can put on a track, and I want the AI to atleast know im on the track with them, not just go intothe corner late, turn in sharply and completly blind side me.

Bingo.

I could give a rat's ass whether the AI is "smarter" or drives better or any of that.. I just want it to know I'm there. And to avoid hitting me, the way a real driver would. GT4 had moments where the AI seemed to realize you were there, but if you started battling for position, it would suddenly forget and run you off the road.

The AI in GT4 will sometimes notice and avoid you, but you have to be going pretty steady, like on test course. Make a turn or change your speed, however, they will run right into you. This makes me think that the AI is aware, but only inside a tiny radius around their cars, and at speed they can't react to you, so they do they next best thing (for them): bulldoze through you.
Or I could be completely wrong, and I'm only imagining the (few) times they've dodged me is not just their programmed route. Just a theory.

I want the AI in GT5 to be like the Ai in TRD3 because when you stop, they actually try and not to hit you, unlike in GT4 where they just ignore you and crash into you!

Ya I agree because when the controller popped out while i was going down the Le Sarthe straight the AI just kept hitting my cars @$$.

I would also like to see more then 10 cars on some races, and possibly a race or two like the Baja races đź‘Ť

I'd just like them to avoid hitting you like they do in forza, and to be able to race a bunch of cars at once on the nurburgring.

I'd also like to have cars driving extremely close together on a narrow track, and seeing if I could avoid hitting them or getting spun out. Just imagine 15+ cars on Citta d' Aria!

Well, if the features we saw on GT4's Vision GT video carry over, we should have about 22 cars on the tracks, and 6 on the rallys.

Even 6 on citta d' aria would be pretty hard, if the cars were really close on the track.

Yet it would come with some great pics, if there is damage, and photomode!
Just think, 6 cars, all crowded in a small Italian town, there is bound to be a crash

Six opponents in Rally Mode would be outrageous anywhere! As long as Polyphony dropped that 5 second penalty.

Well... even if they still included it, but I pray it goes out the driver's side window. :P

Oh, and I have to say that there were times I tried to get hit in GT4, and amazingly the cars avoided me. I don't know what's up with the A.I. code, but occasionally it does indeed show signs of life. With the mind boggling capacity of the PS3, I'm anticipating some good, remotely lifelike driving from the bots.
