I've been thinking, its impossible to eliminate hunger and AIDS in Africa.. so why spend the money and time on them? let's face it, AIDS and Hunger in Africa will never be fixed. Why spend millions of dollars on a problem that cannot be fixed? I know this sounds REALLY cruel and you may now think I'm a prick but let's face it, we can't fix the problem so why not give up?

Your idea sucks.

EDIT: Also, I'm not sure about the hunger aspect (which we "can" fix, but it would take a lot of money) but as far as the AIDS thing, I don't think the objective is trying to cure people from AIDS, it's to prevent it from spreading. Leaving would make it worse.

First, are you crazy? if when you think, you think in these theories, you should try not think very often.
Second, It's difficult but not impossible, as my mother said: difficult things are accomplished, and impossible things are tried.

This whole subject is a philosophical exercise in futility. It’s just mental masturbation, look at the universe and try to size up why we are so far from any habitable planet, our species can not ever leave our planet and expect to thrive some ware else, because the distance between us and the next habitable planet, we think, is basically insurmountable. So the only thing that can be achieved by working with the hungry is to teach them to feed themselves. The Aids thing is like this, “ IT’S A VIRUS” you know like the common cold. When we can cure the common cold then there might be a chance to alter the Aids path of destruction.

But do you think that hunger can be eliminated in Africa along with AIDS? I mean there are millions of Africans.

Sure. Just wait for them all to die off. Then no one will be hungry.

Just because something is difficult, doesn't mean it's not worth trying to do.

Do we have an obligation to do it? No. Does that mean we shouldn't try? No.

Hunger is a lot easier to solve than the AIDS epidemic. The main problem is that a large majority of them aren't well educated.

Not really. The "problem" is that a lot of the people live tribal lifestyles. But it's not really a problem, it's just how they live due to the lack of any kind of substantial economic progress. A lot of African nations are just like an amalgam of the worst european-style economic policies and political barriers.

Almost all foreign aid goes to dictators and government officials. How do you think they wear such freshass suits? Foreign aid doesn't work. The people of Africa will have to build their own economies and realize what a bunch of scumbags they have pretending to rule them. Only after they deal with that internal problem can they expect to get better.

The only outside help that I suppose can trickle down to the african layman is the presence of foreign companies that come to bring utilities services like clean water and desalinization, etc.
