And so it begins.

Haven't heard much regarding this weeks race. What kind of times are your guys turning? Assuming RR may have the faster car this week. Feeling i may be middle of the pack. Can't seem to get a handle on my tire wear at Daytona.

Qualifying here is not as important as your race set up and keeping the tires under you. 2 stops for me with out a doubt.

It's gonna be fun , as long as you can hang in the twisty bits you will draft up in the straights . Then repeat , just hope everyone hits there breaks in time ! I hope it's a big pack at the end just for fun! I could see it now 4 wide out of last turn ! How much speed do you guys loose in the last couple laps of your stints , that's probably the time when it will get scary .

What is wrong with a big soft office chair! We need to all post our set ups one day , in race day trim of course , I have three different drinks , and if it goes bad or really good a fourth .

The first rig i built.

I'm working on the new one for have a seat position more like a proper race car.
So I plan the seat to be angled up 17-19 degrees.

Okay, here's mine. A drum set rack modified and attached to an office chair. Tricky to get in, but movable and stable.

I went the lazy route and bought a wheel stand pro. I'll try posting pictures later tonight. It's nothing special. But works pretty decent.

Lots of lessons learned from DRC last night. I always love racing DRC but any success has been driving very conservatively.

The usual mess with dirty air through the bus stop. Trailing too close into turn 1...blah, blah, blah. I had some damage through the infield and couldn't get the car around the track to pit. It was too risky getting in the way through the bus stop with an undrivable car. Could barely keep it going straight on the flat part under the yellow line. Just parked and watched after that.

As expected, think i am about middle of the pack here. Just can't seem to carry the same speed through the bus stop without dropping 2 wheels into the grass. Should be fun though. Hoping to see some pack racing taking place and hoping to find a drafting partner out there on the oval.

Quick question , when posting a picture on here do I need to use image shack / flicker or something or can
I just post it from my phone in a really easy
Way ?

You need to use something like photo bucket. Then you post the image link. It's possible from a phone. I did mine from my phone.

I upload pics to picasa from my phone then use my laptop to copy and paste the link. In my experience using the attachment option on the Android app doesn't work well

Those are nice set ups but where do you put the skittles and wine?

The table to the right (with keyboard and time machine) also holds the beverages of choice.

My cell phone is junk. But you get the idea. I'd love a cockpit. But the living room isn't the best option. Have been thinking about building one for the back room. Unsure at this point if i'll take action on it.

folded away for storage

I have the same setup as Red. G27 and wheelstand pro. Minus the dog. Nice looking dog, btw. Red's setup seems to work better than mine. I need to get a dog.

lmao!

Trust me, the dog is no help. Waits till the race starts and proceeds to bark as he wants to go out.

Good practice session last night. Should be a tight race. Nice to be on a long course this week. FWIW, I got booted from the pit entering too fast-not sure how fast you can enter.

Oh, per usual...I brake EARLY! heh. Especially at the bus stop. I'm slowing down a little before I get to the guy in the blue shirt, right after the topless biker chick.

Yes good practice last night. Guys that haven't practiced in the draft, remember to brake earlier than normal, especially going into turn one and the bus stop. If you get damage early in the lap it's a long way around.

I'm actually feeling pretty good about tonight's race. Hopefully I can be a little more competitive than in past weeks.

I don't think it can be stressed enough that the draft is very tricky at this track. Following a car into turn one will try to sling shot you into the outside wall, the further back in the line of drafting cars the dirtier the air is so your car moves around a lot, and the bus stop your car will always move to the outside of the corners if you're following. Many of us have been washed into the grass in the bus stop.

I'll be on at 8pm EST if anyone wants to practice.
