So yesterday one of these babies blew past me on the highway. Rare enough that we see Alfas here in America, but this one...MMM it's sexy!

Some info:
1970-1977 Alfa Romeo Montreal
2.6 Litre V8 pumping out 197 hp
weighs 1,270 kilos
And it looks like this.

So yeah GT6 please.

Thanks for this one @guywithanAE86 I'd forgotten all about these cars and just how nice they were.

Here's some more details...

The Alfa Romeo Montreal - this Italian sports car was designed by the great Marcello Gandini of Bertone fame and was originally presented as a concept at the 1967 Montreal Expo in Canada before making it into production as the Montreal in 1977.

The production Montreal was fitted with a potent 2.6-liter 90 deg quad cam V8 engine with fuel injection sourced from 2.0-litre V8 used in Alfa's 33 Stradale and Tipo 33 sports prototype racer. The V8 is rated at 200-horsepower and has a redline at 7,000 rpm. A five-speed gearbox drives the rear wheels through a limited slip differential.

Only around 3,900 examples were built over a period of seven years from 1970 to 1977, and none were officially imported to North America as the coupe didn't meet U.S. and Canadian emission control requirements at the time.

Hi IfAndOr - the engine in the Montreal actually dates back even further - it was originally designed for and used in the little known, but magnificent ATS 2500GT - details in this thread.

@IfAndOr

Wow, that must mean the Montreal I saw was imported later...I didn't notice if it was left hand drive or not I was too busy oogling at it from the outside =P
