The ultimate Allard historic sports racing car- 165mph, 6.4 litre Cadillac powered, 400bhp+ front disc brakes, independent suspension. Note the wooden stick on the boot (trunk) is for checking the depth of fuel in the tank and the boot lid was detached as the owner Tony Bianchi was doing this while I was taking photos of his car.

Above left that boot lid! Bottom right I got my head inside the boot for this shot of the inboard Alfin brake drums. Above: Allard twin ear "knock off" wire wheels. Difficult to see from the photo, but the redline is at a low 5,500rpm. Exhaust note is a deep bass boom through the twin white painted sidepipes. Note period UK road registration "MTE 857" it was quite normal for sports racing cars to be driven to and from the track in 1958.
