Modified from the M64, the M65 has a brand new twin cam 1296cc Gordini engine which developed 130bhp at first and 140bhp later on. The engine was also installed on the old M64s which constantly outperformed the newer M65s.
It won twice the 500km of Nurburgring, in 1965 and 1967.
It was clocked doing 268km/h (166mph) at the Mulsanne straight.
(No specifications found for this beauty, sorry)
Alpine built 2 of these M65s to race in the World Sportscar Championship in 1965. Running in the P1.3 (Prototype 1300) class it won overall at the Nurburgring. Equipped with a 1296cc Inline-4 engine with 118 hp.
One may have noticed it was featured in the Alpine Vision GT video as design inspiration.
