Is transferring my liscance an money from my GT3 file (WHICH I cheated on) over to GT4 to buy a Lancer Evo w/ 470 HP really cheating? I mean, I'm playing GT4 w/o cheats....

Welcome to GTPlanet:tup: I don't think you are cheating, since you'd get the bonuses from the GT3 gamesave whether you cheated with it or not. If you felt really guilty about it, you'd have to delete your GT3 gamesave and start all over again (plus flog yourself with olive branches thrice daily for a week*) just to give yourself a car that you could earn much faster without the GT3 bonus money anyway. So, I wouldn't be too worried about it.

*This step is optional

Good Squire Tantric,
It wouldst seem as though you are suffering a crisis of conscience, a most unpleasant circumstance to find one's self in. I personally think that an appropriate penance would be to operate the Benz Motor Carriage in reverse around The Ring, shouldst thou survive, any pangs of guilt should be gone.
Of course the self flagulation with said olive branch is a reasonable alternative, unless of course you cannot find one. In that case the timing chain from any vintage Alfa can be substituted in it's staid.
Yours,
Fangio

i do not believe you are cheating i transferred all my liceneses from GT3 to gt4 and used the bonus money to by my first car, a black and silver Viper GTS and whipping yourself with a timing chain off a vintage alfa..... i'll leave it at that

Transferring the licenses from GT3 is an accepted technique for completing GT4 in the minimum number of days (it saves 34 game days).

I wouldn't consider the cash transfer to be cheating, either, but I think some would argue the point.

Besides, if it *is* cheating, just whom is being cheated?

Actually stepping from Gt3 to GT4 is cheating, but the game does the cheat.
When you finished Gt3 you start it all over again with Gt4, but with Gt3 you had a garage full of hi-end cars and you had a great racing carrier but you lose that all when you start with the next gt.

The game is cheating, not you!

I don't think it's cheating. You can only transfer $100,000 of GT3 cash, which doesn't go very far. That gets you into the game, but it's still amazing how fast it vanishes.

As far as the licenses go...I transfer out of impatience, not because I can't earn my B & As :) But I've gone back and done both licenses later on at my leisure after I've done some preliminary racing.

Members like that tend to not last very long here. Welcome to GTP. :)

:) The actual transfer from GT3 to GT4 of licence/ cars/ cash is not cheating

:sly: It IS cheating to transfer licence/ cash/ cars that only you got by cheating in GT3

💡 Don't you think you would find it more rewarding to start from scratch anyway? 👍

GT4 isn’t festooned with ‘cheats’, in fact the only real cheat in the game is to take a car that’s far too powerful for the opposition and win the race by a country mile.

If you could handle the cars in GT3 with appropriate aplomb, then there’s every reason to give yourself a minuscule advantage and start off with a better car.

As Parnelli Bone already said, the cash doesn’t last long once you’ve upgraded the car a bit, and after a few hours of Thumb Olympics, you’ll have some more cash to buy other less powerful cars to enjoy those bigger A-spec races which generally involve closer finishes.

Oddly enough, if memory serves I too started out with a slightly modified evo :)

1. Welcome to GTP one of the best site on the net.:)

2. I don't think is cheating if you already earn the $100,000 and the licenses from GT3.👍 But if you use someone else save game and transfer it to your game I would consider that cheating. 👎

3. And I'm pretty sure that most of us who own GT3 transfer the cash over but the sad part is it only last about 30 sec. in the game anyways then its gone.:(

We reserve such comments only for the most ignorant...and then most of us try and be helpful, at least at first! But your question is an honest, intelligent one and I've pondered it myself.

Matter of fact, my first GT4 game I didn't transfer at all...I entered the game the hard way, bought a cheapie Civic, and battled it out in the Sunday Cup & FF Challenge over and over. But in later games, I transferred cash & licenses. Like I said I get impatient and if feels so good to finally start a GT game with some real money.

See what I thought at first was that you could transfer ALL YOUR GT3 CASH to GT4.. My most prolific GT3 game had over 8 million saved...that would be cheating if you could transfer this much!!
