Amateur Leage FR Challenge, how much more HP do I need !? ;/

I've tried everything. If I can dominate those races, I'll bank 5 grand at a time which will help me progress MUCH MUCH MORE. I've tried EVERYTHING to the Miata..

So, now all I can make is 1,500 at a time and it's really slow. I did get the Miata fully tuned and it hit somewhere around 320-330 HP. I keep trying the Trial Mountain 5 lapper, my favorite track pretty much. Always the same grid, but I can never catch that Z !! I can't even get to 5th place, it's pathetic

I have another alternative..but it's gonna cost HELLA lot more. I do have the old Silvia and really impressed that it can use Stage 4 Turbo. Making 1,500 at a time is really getting boring and I don't know if I'm doing something wrong with the Miata or the Silvia must handle way more superior than the Miata.

The thing that pisses me off the most, the gear ratio of the Miata never changes. When I hit 2nd gear, I struggle to hit it at 33MPH, sometimes I'll even drop some speed and it's really frustrating..I don't know what to do how did YOU beat out FR challenge on Amateur ?? 5,000 a race is all I need and I'll make great progress, please help !! >.<

Do the Spider & Roadster races in the Beginner hall. You earn 2,500 for each win, this is what I'm currently doing until I can get a more powerful car.

( I just got the game today also as I never beat it when I first had it)

Good advice Northstar. Here's something I just got done, finally got some bank and can test out some decent cars.

I forgot what races in Beginner unlock the Toyota Vitz, but if you can save at least 12-13 grand for a Stage 2 Turbo, the Vitz Championship is a breeze. It's 5 races, each 5,000 and when you finish the championship it's 10,000.

First time I seen it, but it was cycling thru 4 bonus cars..and the one it gave me was the SAME Vitz I had !! ;/

It's terrible, it's a frickin PINK Vitz !! That's some good money right there, you won't regret it :D

If you look on the front page there is a Guides section that has the prize cars for each GT game.

Also the NA sports race in beginner hall gives 5,000 a race and it super easy. I spun out and still wound up winning by 3 seconds. I'm using a Miata so it should be easy for you as well.

Yeh, sadly I wasted so much in the Miata.

It takes Turbo AND NA, so you have to examine more what produces more HP.

There's Turbo 1 and 2, which dominates NA. And then there's NA stage 3, which is even more. But costs so friggin much..oh well..I'll be making money now..I should find a solution sometime..I hope I can keep unlocking from the Vitz Championship tho, it was kinda fun ;]

You're talking about the Amateurs and not the Pros, right? I used anywhere from 280 hp (in a 2,300 pound car, probably the Silvia K's) to just over 400 in a 3,600 pound car (not sure which one this was), according to my notes. Route 246 requires more power than the other 2 races. I had T4 or T5 tires (or a combination) equipped. Make sure you qualify, too.

Wow. And I took Northstar's advice for the hell of it.

You can do the Spider Roadster races, but you have to spend for Test Track. I have no idea why you can use a NA Silvia but I wanted to save the most money I can, and the Miata only hit 140MPH tops

So I tried a STOCK frickin CRX Del Sol. It actually hit like 151MPH..and it was the sickest replay ever on the Test Track. The damn banana Benz kept trying and trying, we weren't an inch apart thru the whole race l0l0l0l I had to block him constantly but I saved up, didn't have to tune that crappy CRX that actually has top speed 0.0

You must be really good with the Pitz or something because I cannot beat the AI in the Beginner series. I won the first 4 of the races but only got 4th on Trial mountain. Even when I won I still had a hard time even with a 100HP avvantage.

Northstar, you had 100HP advantage !?

I thought I'd be able to smoke them stock but they have some other model and you do have to tune up.

Ok, Trial Mountain is my favorite track so I don't see what's the problem. What you can do is use that short cut that you can skip across the grass..they're supposed to always stay in your rear view..they did for me but blocking in GT3 is a super breeze yo..

I barely did anything, if I did it was stage 1, and yeh it actually supports turbo which made the championship even more enjoyable. Or maybe stage 2..I'm about to finish some race..get back to me if you're still stuck on the Vitz championship it's super easy nice money. Its helped me test out just about any car I'd like, so get back to me if there's still trouble ;/

Skip across the grass?? Wow. :ouch: Michael Schumacher material right here...

Yea, they're supposed to stay in your rear view mirror if you know what the hell you're doing. The fact that you have to BLOCK them just displays you're not ready for GT3's more advanced races. MAN I hope GT5 improves their penalty system.

Here's what I used for the Beginner's Vitz races. Yea, they're not that hard.

Suggested parts at Rome and Laguna Seca: Weight Redux 1, Stage 1 NA tuning, sports muffler, computer, sports suspension & transmission. Single-plate clutch, 1-way diff. and sports flywheel recommended but not necessary.

At Tokyo R 246 use all the parts above but add a Stage 1 Turbo. At Trail Mountain and SSR5, remove the computer and sports muffler. Some players may want to go on sports tires for these last 3 races, but I can do them with stock tires.

PARNELLI !! OH MY GOD !!

I just remembered..now in either Amateur or Professional there's ANOTHER Vitz championship. I'll probably just max that crap out.

ALSO, I finally did the Amateur FR challenge. I had to buy a friggin Dodge Viper for it, and it was STILL a challenge. That RX7 had to be fully tuned, cuz it was on my ass the whole time in my rearview !!
