Hi , i find this race frustrating at Indy on the oval.

I have tried the ZR1 RM vette and could not do better then 6th .

My trusty Ford GT to which i was able to place 5th .

Any ideas ?

Also the vette seems like a dog at Laguna as i was not able get to the front and with the Ford GT took the lead on the corner just before the hill.

I did use set up's for the vette and also played with gearing.

Thanks

I gave my AI guy a RM Vette fully modified + Oil (905hp) with Sail's tune and he had no issues with that race.

My fully modded RM ZR1 demolishes the competition in the American Championship. What level is your B-Spec driver?

My driver is lv 24 and if he wasn't so high up i would fire him.:grumpy:

The idiot breaks way too early and esp. going down the main straight just after start finish line .

Did you fully mod the vette or just do the RM? Did you put a proper tune on it?

Yes had to verify when i got home , only thing i did not do was oil change which i did before starting race and was in the lead after about lap 10 and stayed there barely until lap 15 and ending up finishing 5th .

Try turning down the brake power (brake controller) so that it does not have as much stopping power. Maybe that will make him slow down less by braking.

On Indy, my ZR1 is so fast that I can "set-it-and-forget-it" and just let Bob go. If any of the cars catches up to me, the ZR1 is so powerful that mostly the other cars can't pass even with drafting. If they do pass, my ZR1 will retake the lead in the next .5-1 lap.

Hire a new driver. Make sure he is hot headed, right at the end of the scale and enter him even if he is level 0. Babysit for a while and make sure your car has a good setup. Easy win. Thats what worked for me anyway

Acheron79, if a B-Spec driver is hot headed, will he still pace down to cool if he gets a good lead? Or will he keep a faster pace?

Thanks for the info .

Will run him with the grand turismo for some easy experience at indy .

The ZR1 RM is useless for this event for some reason. Bob just couldnt keep up at the Indy with it no matter what settings I used. Then I tried the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II (which got like 150 hp less and weights more) and won without any problems on the first try. Bob simply blasted past the others and got 1st position by the second lap. At Laguna I used the Ford again and won easy on the first try.
It makes no sense though since the Corvette is a better and faster car. With me driving the Vette its about 2 seconds faster per lap at the Indy.

I used the viper ACR to win the first time with allot of coaching and level 25 bspec barely. Then I tried again with the fort GT lm spec II and dominated

I tried this today, with my best driver, and a fully modded ACR Viper. Over 1000 BHP, but no result.

I'm tempted to try the CIEN Cadillac, or the ZR1 Corvette...I don't think my guys could do it in a Cobra, and I've seen them struggle in a NASCAR.

Even my Team Oreca Dodge struggled, but then, I haven't modded that at all.

I'm considering hiring a new hot headed driver into the car to see if he can cause more damage with my Viper.

its really frustrating when I can easily win this race in my Viper with 1010 HP *not the race version. And Bob can easily pass most cars in some corners and straights and then at other times he slows down so much that 4 cars pass him in one corner! Brakes are set to 1/0 downforce to max (for rear with spoiler), just doesn't make sense, PD really should have made Bob's better drivers... I guess I will save up more cash to buy the Ford GT even though I spend a few hundred grand on the Viper (even used a Matte Purple paint on it)

I finally won this event with a Ford GT LM that i won in B Spec.

I added what i could and with no real set up under it ,i just let it go not expecting much and what do you know came back a few mins later and i was in the lead with no coaching .

My level 23 super-cool (as in all the way cool) driver could not win the Indy race.

Used my level 14 semi-hot (as in halfway between middle and full hot) driver and won it fairly easily with a 13 second gap.

The prize for the American Championship B-Spec is one of the worst though...

I have a cool b-spec driver and the fully tuned ZR1 with RM - the driver would break down to 4th gear and let the pack catch up too much. Tried turning off the brakes - no luck. I got desperate and purchased the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car (in the dealership under Gran Turismo). Fully tuned using Tharain's tune -> https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4317158#post4317158

First race - won by over 10 seconds and didn't have to help at all. Transmission set to a top speed of 236.
Second Race - won by over 9 seconds and once again no help at all. Transmission set to a top speed of 242.

The Transmission Top speed of 236 yields a straight line top speed of about 209-210 mph before the driver has to slow down for the corners. With the transmission set to a top speed of 242, the yielded a track top speed of about 213-214 but seemed slower coming off corners.

For me, setting the Transmission Top speed to 236 seems to be working out the best.

Would anyone know what tuning settings need to be set on the ZR1 to win Indy and Laguna Seca in the American Championship? I have the RM ZR1, but would like to know what the proper tuning settings are.

On Laguna Seca, do you tell your driver to overtake when he gets close to his bumper? And, do you start out with pace up, keep pace, pace down, or overtake? Also, what type of driver are you using

I tried this race about 4 times last night and always ended up in 5th place. There was one time I was in 2nd place on the last lap and my driver decided he wanted to skid off the road. I tried this with a semi-hot driver that is a level 10. I have a cool driver that is level 29, but he couldn't even place 5th.

This.

B-Spec drivers seem to be useless in the Vette for some reason. Easy win in the Ford though

That is what I was thinking. The driver always seemed like he was sluggish and didn't know how to respond to the command I told him. I guess I'll find another car to win win. Thanks.
