Was anyone else really disturbed by the scene at the end where he points the gun at his wife jokingly? Then, before he heads out, he just sticks it on a shelf. Um... The first lesson of handling a gun is that you never point it at anything you don't want to shoot. I don't know who came up with that scene or how it got greenlighted, but I really hope it wasn't in the book because it was really irresponsible firearm handling.
My wife read about half of the book and explained that the real guy was less "conflicted" about killing people. He seemed more content with offing people who seemed suspicious.
